The Willow is part of our two cottage resort is located on 70ft. of private, sandy Silver Lake frontage. Complete with docks, rope swings, a swimming raft, kayaks, a stand up paddle board that are shared by our guests. The lake is great for swimming, paddling boating, fishing. We also have a large backyard to enjoy yard games.

The Willow Cottage is only 10 feet from the lakefront with gorgeous views from the living room and covered porch. You’ll love sitting on the covered porch watching the sunrise. The Willow Cottage’s interior is updated with modern touches such as a gas fireplace, hardwood and ceramic tile in all rooms except the bedrooms which are carpeted. The kitchen is equipped with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffeepot, toaster , pots/pans, dinner ware and flatware.
Silver Lake is a crystal clear, 600-acre lake with excellent swimming, boating, and fishing (Bluegill, Bass, Walleye, Sunfish).It is surrounded by pine and hardwood trees with island and peninsulas. Our two cottage resort is on 3/4 of an acre of flat lake-front property, 500 ft. from the road, with a large backyard for games. Private 70-foot of direct lake frontage with a sand beach swimming area which has a firm, gently sloping lake bottom is perfect for younger children. There are rope swings, two docks, a swimming raft, stand up paddle board, two kayaks, that are shared by guests. Each cottage has its own picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire pit with free wood. We live on the property and have an additional 30ft. of lake frontage for our personal use. We also have our seaplane and boat docked there on our own dock.
PLEASE NOTE: Maximum occupancy is 4. Minimum age to reserve cottage is 25 years old. No parties, no events, no day visitors/guests. This cottage is not handicapped accessible and is part of a 'no pet' resort.
This Northern Michigan lakefront cottage is located just a 10-minute drive south of Traverse City where you can be right in the center of all the action in Traverse City – shopping, winery trails, live theater, and restaurants. Bring your golf clubs for a round of golf at the Crown Golf Course or Interlochen Golf course, just two of many golf courses in the area. .
Traverse City’s downtown nightlight offers lots of romantic options. There are so many restaurants to choose from, you’ll find the perfect match. After your evening out, it’s just a short drive back to all the comforts of Willow Cottage and moonlight on the lake.
The Silver Lake Recreation center is only 2 miles away. It has both paved and unpaved walking paths, a kids playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, disc golf and 2 picnic pavilions. Blair Township park, just 2 miles to the south of us has not only picnic area, and kids' playground, but also a water feature for the kids. All are free to use.

Idyllic TC Cottage! The Willow Cottage is literally two steps from the best spot on Silver lake. It is a very short distance into downtown Traverse City so you can relax and get away from the traffic of town but venture out to the restaurants and shops when you want. One of the best stays we have had in 20 years of vacations in this area.

Great Family Trip. Family had an amazing time at this property. The view of the lake and the amenities are fantastic.
Wonderful vacation location. The Willow cottage had everything we needed to have a wonderful, lakeside vacation. It was quiet and comfortable and big enough for our family of four to spread out and relax together. The location on Silver Lake is simply perfect and the hosts (Marian and Tom) are incredibly friendly and responsive. Our 2 year old loved watching the boats go by, looking for “fishies” off the dock, and swinging in the hammocks - as did Mom, Dad, and baby sister. We are looking forward to returning as our kids get older and are able enjoy this little gem even more.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!! Property was perfect; Marian and Tom met us and were very welcoming and helpful. Impeccably clean, with every amenity needed. Quiet, peaceful, restorative environment, JUST what we needed RIGHT on the water. EAGER to come back, and stay longer!
Great place right on Silver Lake! We had a wonderful summer week on Silver lake. Perfect place for our family of 4. We swam off dock in beautiful water and use the SUP board and kayaks every day. We rented a pontoon boat and explored the lake and kids tubed! Owners were very attentive and responsive. Great location for summer activities.
Great getaway. We had a great five days in the Willow Cottage. There are kayaks and waterboards for use and we took advantage of both. The property is also convenient to grocery stores, downtown Traverse City and it's about a half hour drive from Sleeping Bear Dunes. We highly recommend a stay here.
Peaceful relaxing getaway, Marian and Maple Grove Cottage was a cute cottage on Silver Lake - about 10-15 min to downtown Traverse City. We were a party of 2 adults, 4 young adults and 1 teen. The cottage was clean and we appreciated the updated furniture with USB ports and WiFi. Also very nice to be able to use our Netflix and Hulu accounts on the living room TV. We spent most of our time outside - swimming, fishing off the dock or using the kayaks and paddle boards provided. It was a little of a Bed and Breakfast feel as the owners live Next door and there is another cottage you share the beach and amenities with. This was a very friendly -family oriented place which was perfect for us. Marian was an excellent communicator and Tom even had to rescue us when our rented boat ran out of gas! How great was that! Thank you for allowing us a getaway during the COVID situation :)
9/30/2020 Relaxing Early Fall Getaway. We had a peaceful and lovely stay in the Willow Cottage in mid September. Marian was great! She was quick to respond to our request for a reservation and always responded with great detail to the questions we sent. The process of making the reservation and getting information was very smooth. The cottage was well kept and cozy. It worked well for my parents, my husband and I. It was a perfect fall getaway for us to get a change of scenery and continue our social distancing up north!
Perfect getaway! Location was perfect. The cottage was clean and super cozy. The views of the lake were amazing. What a wonderful peaceful place!

We have owned and operated this small resort since 1989. We take great pride in keeping our resort in tip-top condition, with many renovations. We live in a separate home on the property and have an additional 30ft. of lake frontage for our personal use. We also have our seaplane and boat docked there on our own dock. The resort has been in existence since the 1930's when Silver Lake just had a few resorts and family cottages dotting the landscape. We are recognized by Traverse City's township to legally operate as a short-term vacation rental. We love to share information with our guests regarding sightseeing, area activities and restaurant recommendations. We have maps of nearby biking, walking trails, winery/brewery brochures and directions to places only the locals know about.
