Stock the 2 refrigerator/freezers so you don’t have spend time grocery shopping. The kitchen stands ready with dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, grill, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pantry items, dishes & utensils. Eat inside, or take your plate to the Picnic Table that seats 8 on deck. The living room has Lazy Boy rockers and recliners where you can read one of the history books about the area.
Sleeping arrangement: Call dibs on the upstairs King Bedroom - it has a glass Balcony! 2 other bedrooms are furnished with King Beds. For extra people, we supply 1 pull out full size Lazy Boy and 1 full size sofa sleeper.
Unique Features
The location is great! Take a 1/2 mile walk down the beach to Eagle River. Head south to Houghton/Hancock or spend a day up in Copper Harbor.
Our Sunset House with Wi-Fi on Lake Superior has a huge game room with a Ping Pong Table, Air Hockey, Darts, Fosse Ball Hockey. Guests can also pick from 100's of DVD movies to watch on the 60" Satellite TV in the entertainment room. The home also gets some of its power from solar panels. Have an outdoor grilling preference? We have both a gas grill and a charcoal grill.
4 season outdoor sport rentals can be found in Copper Harbor - kayak / canoe, bicycles. Mt. Bohemia has Ski & Snowboard rentals.
Things To Do
Guests love to visit area waterfalls starting with the Eagle River Falls (60 feet.); Jacob's Falls (40 feet); Silver River Falls; Haven Falls; and the 100 foot Hungarian Falls! Tour the Delaware mine which dates back to the 1800's! The Keweenaw Peninsula is home to the epic copper boom that built the United States. It’s also home to some of Michigan’s best atving and Mountain Biking.
Though it’s hard to leave the beach & Great lakeview right out your back door, there are too many parks and other lakes to explore in the Keweenaw! Escape to Isle Royal National Park and share the hiking trails with moose and wolves. This remote island is the destination for backpackers, boaters, canoers, kayakers, scuba divers, and fishermen. An amazing 336 miles of scenic Lake Superior shoreline too. Locals tip: The best place to take a stroll along Lake Superior is Great Sand Bay. The no-fee Gratiot River County Park offers hunting and fishing.
See if you can find all 8 lighthouses on the peninsula! Watch for Mining Museums, Gift Shops and unique antique shops and bring home a bit of the Keweenaw. Top off you summer vacation to the Upper Peninsula with wild berry picking from late June through August.

We stayed for a week in mid-July, and were very pleased with this property. I cannot say enough about how amazing the pristine Great Sand Bay beach is! Swam almost everyday and made a little fire with s’mores. Sunsets were beautiful! The house had everything we needed, and the decor was really cute. I can also see this being a perfect rental for a snowmobiling trip with the game room downstairs for entertainment on a winter night after adventuring in the snow. Cory & Merrilee Y

About the Owner/Manager
I have been a Professional Fisherman since 1985 but I like the area for more than just the fishing. The solitude, no hustle and bustle vibe, walkable sand dunes, miles of open sand beach and Northern lights hooked this fisherman for good. I started renting to friends and their families and quickly realized that this Lake Superior cabin was meant for many families to enjoy.
