Swan Shores is a stunning, ranch-style lakefront home seated right on the shore of Upper Scott Lake. This comfortably furnished, regularly updated home offers the chance to enjoy Michigan’s beauty with all the amenities you need. Most recently, Swan Shores is now equipped with high-speed internet, so you can stay connected while you unwind.
One end of the home offers a chance to find your inner child in the game room with air hockey, foosball, and pool, while the other end opens into the sun-lit and spacious great room. Floor to ceiling, lake facing windows flood the space with natural beauty and light. Find a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortably furnished living room, and plenty of dining space ready to hold your family and friends.
Step out and breathe in the beauty however suits you best. Enjoy the surroundings from the screened in, dining equipped side porch, fire up the gas grill and enjoy a meal while admiring the views from the lake facing patio, feel the breeze as you play on the sprawling lawn, soak in the sun on the mini lakeside beach, or feel like a swan yourself as you paddle across the lake on a canoe.

Sleeping arrangements: Seven bedrooms, including 11 total beds. Five bedrooms have one queen bed each, bedroom six has two twin/single beds, and bedroom seven has two sets of twin bunk beds (four total beds).

One of the best features of Swan Shores is its expansive lawn. Guests will find a circle of inlaid stone between the attached deck and the water’s edge with a permanent bonfire pit equipped with a cooking grate. This wide circle of firelight is furnished with enough lawn chairs for the entire group to gather around the flames and roast marshmallows for s’mores.
Further out from the house, guests can enjoy a private sandy swimming area with shallow wading right around knee level out 20 to 30 feet — perfect for letting the kids splash around in the lake. The home is also equipped with a private boat dock for guests to moor their vessels or cast a line off the end, as well as a traditional canoe, allowing freedom to explore the lengths of Upper Scott Lake. Single-person kayaks are also available for rental by the day or the week, for a nominal daily fee with a reservation.

Swan Shores joins the exclusive ranks of Upper Scott Lake vacation homes as part of a small community of comfortably-appointed lakeside cottages. The area is quiet and peaceful, and many vacationers return year after year to the same spot. Scott Lakes Properties manages 18 listings encompassing 15 total homes across 13 different properties, and all of them include either Upper or Lower Scott Lake frontage or access.
Swan Shores is open year-round to make the most of Michigan’s changing seasons. This prime lakeside location offers fishing, swimming, boating, sunbathing, and picnicking in the summer. In the fall and spring, autumn leaves and wildflowers make for colorful scenery along the lake’s edge — an ideal opportunity for engagement photos or senior portraits. Bicycle trails can be found in the nearby Allegan State Game Area, and several rural experiences found nearby include Fenn Valley Winery, Crane’s Orchards, and Dutch Farms. You can spend an afternoon touring and tasting, participate in a little country fruit-picking, or indulge in a fresh-made tart or homemade fruit pie. In the winter, Michigan is a hub of cold-weather activity with ice fishing and skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
There are many popular antique stores in South Haven and other neighboring towns, all within roughly 15-20 minutes of the home. There are also several art galleries and unique museum experiences in the vicinity. Between the myriad of Michigan festivals, the unique shops and restaurants, the cultural destinations, the lakes and rivers, and the beaches and dunes, there is always plenty to see and do near Upper Scott Lake.

The internet connection was reliable and good. The lake view from the house is amazing. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the Firepit in the evening. The yard space is big for the kids to run and play. The great room that includes kitchen, dinning and the tv room is huge and spacious with beautiful lake view. The property manger was prompt in attending to our requests during our stay. We were a group of 15 with combination of adults and kids. We had a great time indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed the stay.

By a stroke of luck, we discovered our first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township over 18 years ago. Seeking to share the beauty and enjoyment of the area we'd experienced, we began renting out the cottage to others. Since then, we have added 14 more properties over the past 13 years, and we truly enjoy offering our guests a simple countryside alternative to busy city life.
