We are dog-friendly and would love to welcome one fully-grown small or medium-sized dog per stay! While we’d love to accommodate all pets, we’re unable to host cats or other animals. A non-refundable dog fee of $50 applies, and guests are responsible for any damages.
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone:
1. Dogs must not be left unattended unless safely crated.
2. Please keep barking to a minimum so everyone can enjoy a peaceful environment.
3. Help us protect the furniture by keeping your dog off uncovered surfaces. We’ve provided blankets and towels to make things dog-friendly.
4. Clean up after your dog and dispose of waste in the provided scooper and disposal can.
5. Only fully house-trained dogs are allowed (puppy pad training isn’t permitted).
6. Please keep your dog leashed when outside, as the yard is unfenced, and follow leash laws at Upper Scott Lake access nearby.
7. Do your best to clean up dog hair and other messes before you leave.
8. For health and safety, we kindly ask that dogs aren’t bathed inside. We’ve got an outdoor hose and towels for rinsing off your pup after an adventure.

Saugatuck, 20 minutes away, invites you to browse art galleries, dine along the riverfront, or take a dune ride. Holland, a half‑hour’s drive, charms visitors with its Dutch architecture, tulip gardens, and boutiques. Antique lovers will find treasures in the shops of Allegan and Douglas, and the nearby trails are perfect for cycling.
When the snow flies, go downhill skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, or ice skating. As admirers of Michigan's abundant natural beauty, we hope that folks who stay in our homes come to appreciate the area as much as we do.
By a stroke of luck, we discovered our first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township over 20 years ago. Seeking to share the beauty and enjoyment of the area we'd experienced, we began renting out the cottage to others. Since then, we have added 15 more properties over the past 20 years, and we truly enjoy offering our guests a simple countryside alternative to busy city life.
