Decorated in a charming, countryside style, this semi-accessible vacation home features airy shared living spaces and huge picture windows framing incredible lake views. The shared spaces include a generous great room area complete with a full kitchen, a small breakfast or gaming table, an extra-large formal dining table, and a media lounge area. The kitchen is fully-equipped with dining ware, cookware, utensils, modern appliances (including "hidden" drinks min-fridge), and an island with plenty of work space. The small breakfast or gaming table is set for four, while the larger dining table can seat at least 12 comfortably with three more at the island stools. The lounge area is furnished with leather sofas and a large (55") flat-screen TV connected to both satellite TV service and a DVD player. All of these great-room areas are arranged under a vaulted ceiling with inset canister lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows on the lake-facing side. Sliding doors open onto a spacious outdoor deck area, fully equipped with additional dining space and a gas grill.
Off the kitchen area, you will find a well-lit screen porch with 6-piece dining set and a ceiling fan, which provides an excellent place to play cards while enjoying a calming view of the trees. Other shared spaces include a second lounge area with two comfy sofas and another large-screen (55") satellite-connected TV, as well as a tiled recreation room with a pool, air hockey, AND foosball table.
Stroll out onto the spacious, grassy front yard and down to you very own sandy private beach and private dock. Take a turn around the lake in your own canoe, which is free for your use, or make kayak reservations in advance for a modest daily fee.

Heron’s Landing joins the exclusive ranks of Upper Scott Lake vacation homes as part of a small community of luxury lakeside cottages. The area is quiet and peaceful, with many vacationers who return year after year to the same spot.
Heron's Landing is open year-round to make the most of Michigan’s changing seasons. In the summer, this prime lakeside location offers fishing, swimming, boating, sunbathing, and picnicking. In the fall and spring, autumn leaves and wildflowers make for colorful scenery along the lake’s edge — an ideal opportunity for engagement photos or senior portraits. In the winter, Michigan is a hub of cold-weather activity with ice fishing and skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Bicycle trails can be found in the nearby Allegan State Game Area, and a number of rural experiences found nearby include: Fenn Valley Winery, Crane’s Orchards, and Dutch Farms. You can spend an afternoon touring and tasting, participate in a little country fruit-picking, or just pop in to indulge in a fresh-made tart or homemade fruit pie.
There are a number of notable antique stores in South Haven and other neighboring towns, all within roughly 15-20 minutes of the home. There are also several art galleries and some unique museum experiences to be found in the vicinity. Between the myriad of Michigan festivals, the unique shops and restaurants, the cultural destinations, the lakes and rivers, and the beaches and dunes, there is always plenty to see and do near Upper Scott Lake.

08/10/18: We feel especially lucky to be the first guests staying at Herons Landing. Our group of 16 came from Indiana & Michigan and ranged from age 5 to 85! The house layout accommodated us all nicely. The big dining table was perfect for meals & lots of game playing. We had many fun days on the lake and cozy nights around the fire pit singing songs. We also loved that the location made it easy for us to take trips to South Haven & Saugatuck so we gals could have our shopping therapy. Thanks for providing us with a beautiful home to say in and we'll be taking many good memories with us. Susie Treber, Saline, MI
08/10/18: Our stay was short but it was a pleasure to visit Herons Landing. The house has a fabulous panoramic view of the large lawn, beach, and lake. The house is beautifully decorated throughout with plenty of room and plenty of seating. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked, the rec room with pool table, foosball, and TV is great for rainy days. The beach is sandy and the lake water was nice and warm. The lake has a sandy bottom and gets deep slowly, so it's great for children overall. A great family vacation place and hope to stay longer next time!! Austin Rugg, Fennville, MI
08/11/18: Amazing Restful Vacation--Much needed rest. Very relaxing to look out the windows and watch the sun set. Very peaceful and quiet. The fishing was great. Sandy beach for the kids with fire pit near by for night time enjoyment.
08/21/18: [5 Stars] Wonderful place to spend a weekend with family! Our family of 11 stayed at this new home with an amazing view of the Lake! It was well supplied, had a pool table and foosball and a canoe for our use! Looking forward to going back! Rochelle Weingarden, Southfield, MI
09/10/18: Very nice getaway! 10 miles off freeway, great set up, nice fire pit, close to water. Very serene and quite. Joe D., Grand Rapids, MI
09/25/18: Amazing Property for Large Group! A group of 12 golfers made this our home base for a recent SW Michigan golf trip. This house is absolutely beautiful and very big. It easily accommodated 12 people and had plenty of room to spare. Fire pit, pool table, and Foosball table added to the enjoyment of our group. We highly recommend this property! Michael M., Ohio.

We fell in love with southwest Michigan on a trip to visit friends in South Haven nearly 15 years ago. As Chicago natives, we were immediately enchanted by the serene atmosphere and natural beauty — not to mention the extensive outdoor activities. Since then, we have embraced the tradition of spending holidays and summer weekends in the area, and it was only a matter of time before we decided to find a vacation home of our own.
By a stroke of luck, we discovered our first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township nearly 15 years ago. We began renting the cottage there out of a desire to share our wonderful experiences there with others. We now offer 9 additional rental properties, and we love offering a simple countryside alternative to busy city life.
Our homes and guests benefit from the excellent watch-care provided by one of our Local House Managers, Christine, whose contact information is provided with your reservation confirmation and posted clearly in each home.
