This new-construction, ranch-style, lakeside cottage on Upper Scott Lake is part of our small community of exclusive vacation rentals. Scott Lakes Properties now has seven total vacation retreats on this lake, four more wooded-lot properties nearby, one cottage across the street from this lake, and two on Lower Scott Lake! Wait until you see the amazing lake view through the floor-to-ceiling windows!
The great room includes a full kitchen, living area (with leather sofas, 55" flat-screen TV with satellite service, and DVD player), and dining area. The great room opens onto an outdoor deck on the lake-facing side, where you’ll want to spend much of your time. Are you eating in? The well-stocked kitchen is equipped with dining ware, cookware, utensils, modern appliances (including a "hidden" mini-fridge perfect for drinks for the kids), and an island with plenty of workspace. Eat together! The large dining table can seat at least 12, the smaller dining set seats four more, and at least two people can sit at the island counter. Just off the great room, you will find a spacious and well-lit screened porch with a ceiling fan and an eight-piece dining set, allowing you to bring the "outside" inside while enjoying games or meals together. Enjoy the rec room outfitted with a pool table, foosball, and air hockey, plus a second media lounge area featuring another satellite-connected large-screen (55") HD TV with additional comfy leather sofa seating.
This charming, countryside-style Michigan vacation rental has a small, private beach with a dock, so be sure to bring your beach towels, floaties, and boats. Create many memories around the lakefront fire pit, where you can gather for story-telling and s'more sessions each night. Bring yard games too - a grassy lawn with a lake view is a great place to spend the afternoon. Paddle around in our canoe, or rent kayaks for a small daily fee to enjoy a tranquil trip around the lake.
Sleeping arrangements: Seven bedrooms with 11 total beds. Five bedrooms each have one queen bed, bedroom six has two single/twin beds, and the seventh kids' bedroom has two bunk beds (four total twin beds).

This sprawling, seven-bedroom, four-bathroom Lee Township vacation home is one of 14 luxury cottages managed by Scott Lakes Property Company. Eagle's Nest offers stunning views of Upper Scott Lake, with plenty of private outdoor space spread over our large lawn, a tidy beach area, and a private dock where you can fish or moor your boat. The indoor spaces are open, tidy, and arranged with guest comfort in mind. The lake-facing deck includes ample outdoor dining seating plus a gas grill. There is also a well-lit, furnished screened porch for rainy days, and an outdoor fire pit near the water. A short walk off the deck brings you to your private, sandy beach, with a private dock and canoe. Kayaks may also be reserved in advance for a nominal daily fee.

Upper Scott Lake is a 99-acre, spring-fed, all-sports lake in scenic southwest Michigan, in the heart of Michigan farm country. Expect to catch some fish in the lake, including Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Yellow Perch. Put these adventures on your bucket list as well: Saugatuck Dunes State Park with its 2.5 miles of shoreline, hiking trails and coastal dunes; Kalamazoo River fishing; Oval Beach for swimming, sunbathing & walking, and hiking the Lake Michigan dunes; Gun Lake Casino for table games & slots; Fenn Valley Vineyards; Saugatuck-Douglas History Museum, where you can see a traditional red lighthouse built in the 19th century, or stroll through the Sanctuary Woods Preserve.

The house with all of its bedrooms , bathrooms, and big kitchen /living area, made it great for everyone to congregate together, or have a little privacy. The house seems well taken care of, and it has the best fire pit of any place we’ve stayed! The big yard and little sandy beach area on the small lake, made it perfect to play games outside, swim, canoe, or kayak all day long. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Our group consisted of three mom friends and our total of 8 kids, ranging in age from 7 to almost 13. Upon arrival, we were so happy to find a super clean, adorably decorated cottage. It passed the "HGTV test" from our tweens, which is high praise! We got groceries and mostly stayed at the house, and we found the kitchen to be well-equipped to deal with anything we wanted to make, from nachos to smoothies. We appreciated the canoe and recommend bringing some floats or other inflatables, because we were in the water several times each day. We drove to both South Haven and Saugatuck during our stay, and found the drive to both to be relatively short and sweet. We would definitely come back and even talked about extending the group size to include husbands and another family and possibly renting Eagle's Nest along with another one of the houses along Upper Scott Lake.

It is well equipped for families with small children including a crib and high chair. The private portion of beach has sand which the littles loved and is warm water with a shallow entry so they could swim and play in the water while us adults enjoyed some cold beverages and sat just on the shore (which parents rarely get to do- just sit!). There is a tree near the beach so you can move just a bit on to the grass to get shade if desired. Dad enjoyed taking the kids out for beautiful sunset canoe rides. Smores by the fire pit were a nightly ritual. It was so good to catch up with one another and relax a bit. The layout of the house with all the bedrooms down one hallway makes noise transmission a bit... too good :) but that is probably because we came with five children under the age of seven! Adults hit up nearby Virtue Cider in Fennville for some adult time. Overall highly recommend and would love to visit again!!

By a stroke of luck, the owners discovered their first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township over 18 years ago. They began renting out the cottage because they sought to share the wonderful experiences their family has enjoyed through the years.
