Things To Do

Upper Scott Lake is a 99-acre, spring-fed, all-sports lake located in scenic southwest Michigan, in the heart of Michigan farm country. Expect to catch some fish in the lake, including Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Yellow Perch. Put these adventures on your bucket list as well: Saugatuck Dunes State Park with its 2.5 miles of shoreline, hiking trails and coastal dunes; Kalamazoo River fishing; Oval Beach for swimming, sunbathing & walking, and hiking the Lake Michigan dunes; Gun Lake Casino (table games & slots); Fenn Valley Vineyards; Saugatuck-Douglas History Museum, where you can see a traditional red lighthouse built in the 19th century, or stroll through the Sanctuary Woods Preserve.

Since you book directly with us at Scott Lakes Property Company, we can give your group tips on how to vacation like a local. From the famous dunes to the less-famous plays at the Saugatuck Center For the Arts, we’ll give you plenty of sightseeing, family activities, local festivals, and great local dining options to consider.

Mike N. - Reviewed Jan 2020 - Great open floor plan. Perfect for multiple families. Plenty of space. Highly recommended!
Sharyn C. - Reviewed Jun 2020 - Eagle's Nest has an amazing view and the house is spacious! My family enjoyed our time there, which ranged from adults to teens to toddlers. It was fun for everyone!
Debra C. - Reviewed Jun 2020 - Lovely, serene setting. Kids loved the game room, adults loved the view.
Karen F. - Reviewed Jul 2020 - We really enjoyed our stay at the Eagle’s Nest House in Pullman. It’s location between South Haven, Saugatuck, and Lake Michigan made it easy to visit all 3. The house with all of its bedrooms , bathrooms, and big kitchen /living area, made it great for everyone to congregate together, or have a little privacy. The house seems well taken care of, and it has the best fire pit of any place we’ve stayed! The big yard and little sandy beach area on the small lake, made it perfect to play games outside, swim, canoe, or kayak all day long. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Angela A. - Reviewed Jul 2020 - We stayed at Eagle's Nest this June and had a fantastic experience with the property. Our group consisted of three mom friends and our total of 8 kids, ranging in age from 7 to almost 13. Upon arrival, we were so happy to find a super clean, adorably decorated cottage. It passed the "HGTV test" from our tweens, which is high praise! We got groceries and mostly stayed at the house, and we found the kitchen to be well-equipped to deal with anything we wanted to make, from nachos to smoothies. We appreciated the canoe and recommend bringing some floats or other inflatables, because we were in the water several times each day. We drove to both South Haven and Saugatuck during our stay, and found the drive to both to be relatively short and sweet. We would definitely come back and even talked about extending the group size to include husbands and another family and possibly renting Eagle's Nest along with another one of the houses along Upper Scott Lake.
Roger G. - Reviewed Jul 2020 - The beach is perfect for young kids and general relaxing. The sunsets at the fire pit left everyone decompressed. Multiple gathering areas were wonderful, I did my morning coffee and news at the east end while, unheard, the grandchildren watched DVDs and spilled cereal on the easily swept up tile floors. A well planned layout for a family gathering.
Libbe B. - Reviewed Aug 2020 - Perfect set up for many people! Lots of spaces for hanging out and relaxing! All around, a great stay!!!
Gina G. - Reviewed Aug 2020 - The house was perfect for our gathering and the beach and lake in the backyard are nice and clean and very enjoyable!
Amrit S. - Reviewed Aug 2020 - It was great location with great views. Kayaks are def a good rental for the lake.
Lisa L. - Reviewed Aug 2020 - Great spot for families with small children! - We had a wonderful time as a family recently at Eagle's Nest. It is well equipped for families with small children including a crib and high chair. The private portion of beach has sand which the littles loved and is warm water with a shallow entry so they could swim and play in the water while us adults enjoyed some cold beverages and sat just on the shore (which parents rarely get to do- just sit!). There is a tree near the beach so you can move just a bit on to the grass to get shade if desired. Dad enjoyed taking the kids out for beautiful sunset canoe rides. Smores by the fire pit were a nightly ritual. It was so good to catch up with one another and relax a bit. The layout of the house with all the bedrooms down one hallway makes noise transmission a bit... too good :) but that is probably because we came with five children under the age of seven! Adults hit up nearby Virtue Cider in Fennville for some adult time. Overall highly recommend and would love to visit again!!
Pam H. - Reviewed Sep 2020 - My husband and I booked this house for a long weekend. We had family come up Saturday. Everyone had a blast fishing and hanging out by the fire pit. The canoe was a lot of fun for everyone. It was very peaceful and tranquil. Would book again!!
Kim V. - Reviewed Oct 2020 - This property works great for large gatherings with 7 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms. Stunning views of the lake and the firepit is perfect for cool fall evenings.
Samantha V. - Reviewed Oct 2020 - It was a great place with an amazing view. We came with 15 people for a bachelorette party and it worked out perfect! We weren’t too far from South Haven or Saugatuck and there was plenty of beds and bathrooms. Great place! Would definitely come back.
Madalyn M. - Reviewed Oct 2020 - Very clean, modern amenities, lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. The private mini-beach was perfect for just talking and relaxing by the water. Perfect for a weekend getaway if you’re looking to unwind.
Ashley D. - Reviewed Oct 2020 - Huge space with plenty of room to sleep, enjoyed having 4 bathrooms for the group of girls we were traveling with. Enjoyed the large great room overlooking the lake!
Sonia G. - Reviewed Oct 2020 - We had an amazing time! The house was beautiful, spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for our family including an awesome outdoor space! We can’t wait to come back.
Brenda B. - Reviewed Nov 2020 - There were 6 couples for a weekend getaway. The home exceeded our expectations. Beautiful and spacious. It was obvious that they took the time to make sure everything was cleaned and sanitized. Thanks for allowing us this getaway. It was much needed for us!!!
Ellice B. - Reviewed Jan 20201 - Excellent stay for a ski trip! - We had a wonderful ski trip to Michigan staying with our 9 children (two large families). So much room- comfortable bed- ample bathrooms etc. The kitchen was well-stocked and perfect for making al our meals. The home was. But far from grocery stores, but that is our only complaint! We will be back for another ski trip soon!
Kristin R. - Reviewed Feb 2021 - We had an excellent time! The house was amazing and huge!! We would love to come back!
Jeanne L. - Reviewed Feb 2021 - The cottage was perfect for our large group especially with the game area with the pool table and air hockey far from the eating/gathering area. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of dishware for our needs. We really enjoyed our visit.
Anneka T. - Reviewed Mar 2021 - Nice, new space right on the lake. We had 12 friends stay, and there was plenty of beds and bathrooms. The sunsets were beautiful on the lake! Enjoyed playing pool and hanging out. We also enjoyed the fire pit. We took day trips to South Haven and Saugatuck only 20-30 minutes away.
Tracy W. - Reviewed Mar 2021 - This is a great place to stay with lot of room to spread out. The game room was a big hit with our kids!

About the Owner/Manager

We fell in love with southwest Michigan on a trip to visit friends in South Haven nearly 20 years ago. As Chicago natives, we were immediately enchanted by the serene atmosphere and natural beauty — not to mention the extensive outdoor activities. Since then, we have embraced the tradition of spending holidays and summer weekends in the area, and it was only a matter of time before we decided to find a vacation home of our own.

By a stroke of luck, we discovered our first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township nearly 18 years ago. We began renting the cottage there out of a desire to share our wonderful experiences there with others. We now offer 13 additional rental properties, and we love offering a simple countryside alternative to busy city life.

Our homes and guests benefit from the excellent care provided by one of our Local House Managers, Tracy. Her direct contact information is provided to each guest at the time they make their reservation and is also clearly posted within our homes.
