Loon Lookout at NettieBay Lodge in Hawks, Michigan, is a classic, A-frame cottage with a view of the water on one side and the woods on the other. This six-person, furnished vacation rental in the northeast corner of Michigan’s scenic lower peninsula offers comfortable accommodations and modern amenities with frontage on Lake Nettie.
Loon Lookout is settled on a private, grassy lot under the shade of tall trees. This cabin is close to snowmobile and ATV trails, and offers plenty of off-street parking for extra vehicles and trailers. It also includes a private boat dock on Lake Nettie, with a 14-foot boat included in the rental price. Motor rentals and fuel are available on resort grounds.
Inside, Loon Lookout cabin features an open floor plan with a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen and a cozy sitting area. The dining table offers seating for four. Laundry is available for guests on resort grounds, as is shared wireless internet. Loon lookout has two private bedrooms, with a full-sized bed in one and two twins in the other.
Cottages at NettieBay Lodge have easy access to lawn chairs, picnic tables, charcoal grills and fire pits on and around the lake shore. Vacation packages can include a simple cabin rental, or expand to include one of our specialized learning experiences, such as classes in photography, stone masonry, birding or split bamboo rod-making. Our Loon Lookout cottage is ideally located to offer guests easy access to watersports, hunting and fishing, swimming, hiking, and other outdoor adventure activities. Lake Nettie is clean with a sand bottom, making it perfect for swimming or exploring in paddle boats.
We encourage guests to bring their own recreation vehicles and watercraft along to NettieBay Lodge. The resort is close to well-kept snowmobile/ATV trails, and extra dock space is available for boats. Contact us for information about pontoon and fishing rentals.
Northern Michigan is a wonderful place to vacation year-round, with plenty to do and see in any season. You’ll love the nature trails, the vast starry sky, and the quietude of the great outdoors. The frogs at NettieBay Lodge are numerous and the campfire was delightful. Frog catching with Alicia was so fun and it provided us with laughs to last a long time. All the Great Blue Herons will leave memories that will last even longer! Departing is never easy, but we’ll be back next year! — Emily
