Our Kirtland Warbler cottage at NettieBay Lodge in Hawks, Michigan, is a cozy one-bedroom cabin rental near our other duplex cabins: The Finch and Wren Roost. This four-person lakefront getaway in northern Michigan is perfect for group vacations of any size.
Rent the Kirtland Warbler cottage on its own, or plan to commandeer several NettieBay cottages for your family reunion or corporate event. Each cottage includes a private yard space, a boat dock, a fire pit, a picnic table, lawn chairs and a charcoal grill, in addition to interior amenities.
Inside, Kirtland Warbler features a central great room with an open floor plan between the kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The kitchen is fully equipped with dinnerware and cookware, as well as modern appliances. The kitchen table offers seating for four.
Sleeping arrangements: One private bedroom at Kirtland Warbler is furnished with a queen-sized bed. The living area offers sleeping space for a maximum of two more, with a twin-sized daybed and a full-length plush sofa.
Guests staying in our cozy Kirtland Warbler duplex cottage enjoy full access to resort amenities at NettieBay Lodge, including a private dock, a 14-foot fishing boat (motors and fuel available onsite), a small convenience store (carrying snacks, firewood, bait and other necessities), a children’s play area, a shallow swim area with a sand bottom, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Kirtland Warbler and its neighboring cottages enjoy a quiet spot on the scenic shore of Lake Nettie in the northeastern corner of Michigan’s beautiful lower peninsula.
Each cabin at NettieBay Lodge has easy access to swimming, fishing and watersports via the gently, grassy shoreline and each home’s private dock.
Cabin rentals include the use of a 14-foot fishing boat. We also encourage guests to bring their own watercraft, including canoes and kayaks, pontoons, jet skis and more.
Another favorite pastime in Hawks, MI, is exploring the numerous nature trails that are open year-round to hiking and biking, cross-country skiing, ATVs, and snowmobiles.

The frogs at NettieBay Lodge are numerous and the campfire was delightful. Frog catching with Alicia was so fun and it provided us with laughs to last a long time. All the Great Blue Herons will leave memories that will last even longer! Departing is never easy, but we’ll be back next year! — Emily
