Cattail Cottage, at NettieBay Lodge in Hawks, Micighan, is a wonderful retreat destination for reunions, corporate events, and even weddings. The resort can accommodate a maximum of 40 guests, distributed between seven picturesque cabin rentals along the bank of Lake Nettie.
This northern Michigan lakefront resort offers shared amenities such as boat docks and a shallow swim shore, picnic tables, fire pits, charcoal grills, playground equipment, wireless internet, and even an onsite convenience store and laundry facilities.
Cattail Cottage offers private family accommodations for four, with two bedrooms and one full bath. The living area includes a fully furnished kitchen, with dishes and appliances and a unique, 1950s-era refrigerator. There is also a cozy sitting area and a screened-in porch.
Sleeping arrangements: Cattail Cottage has two private bedrooms with a full-sized bed in each. There is also an optional sleeping space for one on the main-area sofa.
Cattail Cottage is set on a level lot with plenty of tall trees and shady spots to relax out of the afternoon sun. There are several other vacation homes in view from the property at Cattail Cottage. This home is equipped with its own picnic table, fire pit and Adirondack lounge chairs. Your rental also includes a 14-foot fishing boat and a private dock.
With your private dock just steps away from the cabin door at Cattail Cottage, you’ll have complete freedom to access the lake for fishing, swimming, boating and other water sports. Your rental will include a 14-foot fishing boat, with a boat motor and fuel available onsite for an additional fee. We encourage guests to bring their own watercraft, as well as kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards or jet skis. Lake Nettie is a great place to play on the water!
From its location in the northeast corner of Michigan’s scenic lower peninsula, NettieBay Lodge offers easy access to beautiful hiking and biking trails, as well as beautifully maintained snowmobile and ATV trails that are open year-round. Michigan is known for its excellent hunting and fishing, and your cottage is close to public hunting grounds and more. The resort even runs seasonal hunting outings for guests, including whitetail deer, grouse and woodcock, and the Michigan predator hunt.

The frogs at NettieBay Lodge are numerous and the campfire was delightful. Frog catching with Alicia was so fun and it provided us with laughs to last a long time. All the Great Blue Herons will leave memories that will last even longer! Departing is never easy, but we’ll be back next year! — Emily
