Perched on Keaton Street’s corner hilltop you'll enjoy magnificent panoramic views and the relaxing summer breeze of Lake Michigan. Our cottage has 3 Bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. Master bedroom has a wonderful view of Lake Michigan. 1 1/2 baths, washer, dryer, dishwasher, linens provided. Sleeps 6.

We are just a half block from Pere Marquette beach, the only nationally certified 'Clean Beach' on the great lakes. Miles of clean beach and fresh water, gorgeous sunsets, kite boarding, playgrounds, and bike trail are just a few of the things that make this beach outstanding!

Unique Features

Keaton Corner Cottage is located in a very quiet neighborhood coined the 'Actor's Colony' because of its history of being summer home to Buster Keaton’s family and vaudeville performers. Walk wooded trails or watch deer sleep on the hillside. Bring your bikes. The Bike/Walking path is just out the front door of the cottage. You can also walk the scenic path with your dog to West Michigan’s only dog beach. Nearby Kruse Park offers a half mile of Lake Michigan beach for you and your pet to enjoy. There are several boat launches to choose from within a half mile. Located in the heart of Muskegon’s boating community it’s a short walk to Muskegon Yacht Club and Torresen Marine on Muskegon Lake.

We know you will love our beautiful cottage.

Things To Do

You will love the 27.5 acre Pere Marquette beach. Try kite boarding, enjoy the playgrounds and bike trail, or roast marshmallows under the stars at one of the fire pits along the beach. Get out on the water in a kayak from Hartshore Marina on Muskegon Lake. Experience maritime history with a tour of the "USS Silversides," a World War II Submarine in the Muskegon Channel, or the renowned veteran’s museum aboard the naval ship LST 393, (check out the ships free Friday night movies on the deck!). Or visit the Muskegon Museum of Art and view their permanent collection as well as visiting exhibits. Norman Kruse Park is just a mile from the cottage and offers incredible lakeshore views from the dune stair climbs, a half mile of off leash dog beach, and picnic/playground area. The park can be reached by walking/biking on the bike trail, just outside the front door, or by car.

Reviews

We had a wonderful time at Keaton Corner Cottage. It was very cozy and relaxing. It was wonderful to have the walking path and the lake view from the deck and cottage. We really like Muskegon! Everyone is so friendly!Thank you for sharing your wonderful peaceful cottage. Sandra and Jim, July 2018,
Great View! We really enjoyed our stay at Keaton Cottage! It was very clean and Corene had everything you could ever need ready for our use. She was also very helpful! The main reason I chose this cottage was the beautiful view of Lake Michigan from the deck and from the sliding glass doors in the living room and front bedroom. Nancy S., Jun 24, 2017
What a pleasure! A very nice cottage in a great location to enjoy the beach and views. The cottage is very well maintained, spotless, well appointed, comfy - has everything you need. We enjoyed being out and about during the day and coming back to the cottage for dinner and views on the deck. The kitchen is very easy to cook in and has everything you need to cook in or grill out. Bike/walking path right outside leads to a beautiful wooded trail, large park, and the beach. We especially enjoyed the nearby dog beach for our water-loving Labradoodle and the walk out to the lighthouse which afforded beautiful sunset views. It really was a pleasure staying at Keaton Cottage. Thank you for a great weekend. Mary Beth M., May 31, 2016
Great cottage with a Huge View! The listing is spot on, just like the pictures. This is a wonderful little beach town cottage with an amazing view of Lake Michigan. We stayed for the weekend along with a few friends and our dog. It was very clean and well maintained. Correne was extremely helpful. She went out of her way to make our check-in/check-out easy. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family. Curtis J. May 24, 2016
Lovely location, well supplied and comfortable cottage. Being right on the boardwalk loop was really nice, walks to beach, dog beach etc were so easy to do. The fact that the cottage is also close to the bike path was also appreciated. We were thrilled at how well supplied the cottage was, usually there is something we have to run out for right away but it was all there. The deck was wonderful for watching sunsets and the water. All in all a great place for a vacation. Susan V. Jun 25, 2017
Beautiful Lake Michigan Views. What a great cottage close to the lake. It is clean, well equipped and a fun place to meet up with friends and family. It is not handicapped accessible at all but on a lovely walking/bike trail that goes through the woods and along the beach. Very easy walk to the beach with lots of beach toys. Corene gives great advice for your stay and answers all questions promptly. I would definitely stay here again. Karen V. Jun 7, 2016
Our whole family, including the dog, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Keaton Cottage. There is something here for everyones tastes. The cute cottage has a deck that overlooks Lake Michigan and is perfect for quiet time. A wonderful beach is within walking distance for sunning and swimming. The bike/walking path right outside the door leads to many playgrounds for the kids. There was even a beach on Lake Michigan for our dog. We are planning to go back next year and would recommend jt for everyone. Elizabeth R. Sep 5, 2015
Our experience at Keaton Corner Cottage was nothing short of spectacular. The cottage is conveniently located across the street from a beautiful walking trail that takes you straight to the beach (the trail is also part of a "loop" that is perfect for running, biking, etc). You can just as easily enjoy incredible views of Lake Michigan from the cottage's large, shady deck, where we found ourselves relaxing for hours on end. We were surprised at how private and quiet the property felt, and we frequently kept the sliding doors and windows cracked open to capture the lake breezes. The interior of the cottage is immaculate and equipped with all of the amenities of home such as a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and cable television. We especially appreciated the ability to take our pug with us- he thoroughly enjoyed playing at the doggie beach located less than a mile away. We are already planning our return to Keaton Cottage next summer! Bill S.,
Great View & Location, All the Amenities You Need. This place was perfect for my husband, dog and myself. I was not sure what to expect but all turned out great. The cottage has a cute, eat-in kitchen that was a pleasure to cook in, nice deck, master bedroom on lake side of cottage - the Lake Michigan waves lulled us to sleep each night. Great location for accessing the trail to the beach, through a little forested area that was charming and full of nature. The dog was in heaven. The owner was responsive and has done a lot to make this cottage user friendly. We hope to get back again. Ellen F.
Our stay here was actually one of the highlights of our trip! Kathy W.

About the Owner/Manager

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself. I grew up in Muskegon and left to pursue my dreams. After living and working on both coasts, (and Chicago), I returned to this little gem of an area along beautiful Lake Michigan. I love sharing my joy of the lakeshore with guests, through my cottage. I grew up spending summers at our family cottage, and those incredibly happy memories fueled me to create the hilltop oasis I call Keaton Corner Cottage! My wish is to provide a place where you, your family, and friends, can experience and make those same kinds of memories!
Thank you and Happy vacationing! Corene
