Things To Do

Lakeport Log Cabin is located an easy, nine-mile drive from the quaint downtown area of Lexington, Michigan. This small waterfront community keeps a beautiful marina where locals and visitors alike love to walk the pier. Lexington also has a number of fun shops (such as the penny candy store) and restaurants, and the nearby Lake Huron Beach is clean and accessible with white sand and lots of small shells to collect.

Port Huron is located seven miles to the south and is a larger town with more recognizable chain restaurants and shops — some favorites include Meijers, Home Depot, Walmart and Kohls. Golfers will love the scenic course at the Lakeview Hills Golf and Country Club. For dining out, we recommend Big George’s family restaurant (walking distance to the cabin) — open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Reviews

Spring getaway to a great location! We enjoyed seeing Lexington and Port Austin from this spot. This log cabin had nice amenities. Our favorite room was the front enclosed porch for eating and playing games. — Donna A., May 2019
The cabin is extremely cute! The part that really gave it that feel to me were the windows in the rest of the cabin. The lake access is a very short walk. The cabin did not have AC during our stay but, fans were provided. We had two small dogs with us, the yard at the cabin is pretty small but, there is a park that's not even less than 1/2 a mile away that we took them to. This park also has beach access but, dogs are not allowed. There is a super cute BBQ place close by that we didn't get a chance to visit but, wished we did. It's called Lakeshore Smokehouse. — Ashley J., Aug. 2018
Very clean and very well equipped. Everything we could possibly need was included. Beautiful area. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. — Gerard M., Aug. 2018
This cabin was the perfect lodging for our family vacation. When we weren't on the beach or exploring the area, this was a cozy home base. There are a few board games provided, and we also enjoyed curling up with a book in the front room and on the beds in the loft. The grill served us well for cooking dinner each night, as did the fire pit for toasting marshmallows. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Since we were able to maintain a pleasant temperature manipulating the windows, we didn't try the new mobile A/C unit. The owner was very friendly and easy to deal with; she checked in with us to make sure our stay was perfect. The neighborhood is nice, the beach is reserved for residents of this little street, and it really does only take 2 minutes to walk there! — Kathleen G., June 2018
