Safe Harbor is a quaint northwoods cottage in a wooded setting steps from a sandy beach shoreline on West Twin Lake. This picturesque shingle-sided cottage is part of a 3 unit structure that can be rented with privacy as a single unit or combined with #3 & #10 for larger family gatherings. It has a fully equipped eat in kitchen that opens onto a spacious family room and two bedrooms with a bath and shower.
In the living room, cabin guests will find a plush sofa and two reclining armchairs with a rustic log director’s chair gathered in a social circle around a game table. The full bath and 2 bedrooms lead off from the sitting room.
Sleeping arrangements: Two private bedrooms at Safe Harbor are furnished with 2 full-sized beds and 1 queen — two in one, arranged in an L-shape and one in the other. Both bedrooms include a large dressers so guests can unpack and make themselves at home.
Safe Harbor is a private, rustic retreat in northern Michigan — but it is also part of an engaging resort community with fantastic amenities on the shore of West Twin Lake. The historic Twin Lakes Shore Resort offers shared amenities for guests to use, including a beautiful sandy beach, a large dock with seating and a floating tiki barge moored off the dock. There are two moorings for guest boats and a recreational area with volley ball, horse shoes, tetherball, play structure plenty of campfire rings and outdoor grills. Each cabin comes equipped with a 12-foot aluminum row boat, with outboard motors available onsite for rent.
Besides swimming, boating, fishing, watching the sunset from the tiki barge, lounging on the dock, cooking around the fire and enjoying the scenic hiking and biking trails around the resort — as a guest staying at the lakefront cottage Safe Harbor, you will have access to dozens of exciting attractions and excursions in the Lewiston region.
Twin Lakes Shore Resort cabins are located just one mile from downtown Lewiston, where visitors can explore the championship golf courses, restaurants, family-friendly taverns and unique shops. Some favorite seasonal activities in the area include hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring or for grouse in the fall. Lewiston is also home to one of the most scenic sporting clay and skeet/trap shooting courses in the Midwest at the site of the former Sheridan Valley Ski Tow, open to the public.
Cabin guests will find themselves in the midst of not only two great fishing lakes (home to native and stocked tiger musky, northern pike, walleye, bass and perch), but also conveniently close to a designated National Scenic River and world class trout stream.
