My grandkids love it here!!! All the sand!!! And paddle boats, kayaks, etc. the C dock is great with little ones. We have been here twice in last 3 years. The ranch cottage was perfect for our family.

Another memorial weekend spent in the Lodge. We had an amazing time. Had a great time relaxing and soaking up the sunshine! If anyone is looking for a beautuful, clean, family fun getaway, I highly recommend checking this place out. The lake is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and just relaxing. I love all of our memories made at Snug Haven!

We stayed over a beautiful fall weekend in the Retreat. It was EXTREMELY clean and well appointed. Very cozy. They have a great sandy lakefront for the kids. We enjoyed our stay!

After a disastrous start to our family vacation at another lake house further up north where we had to bring our own linens and towels and pay more for the rental, we were so happy to find Snug Haven. We were only in the initial rental for a whopping two hours before it became a nightmare. After making our beds while it rained really hard, we tried to leave for dinner and groceries when the rain slowed down. As we headed for the door we noticed water flooding into the kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom. When we called the owner we were told where the mop bucket was located. For the next half an hour we mopped up all the water. When the owner arrived he offered us a discount to stay but we had enough and didn't want to worry about anymore floods. We were so disappointed that we left for home that night, a long 3.5 hour ride back. In a panic to save the family vacation the next morning, we were referred to Snug Haven. From the second I called Donn at Snug Haven and looked at the photos on FB I could tell this is where we wanted to stay and booked it right away. This place turned out to be our blessing in disguise. We have been to a lot of lake house rentals, this was by far the nicest, cleanest, and most fun place we have rented. There is a big sandy beach (no weeds) with a sizeable swim area blocked off that is perfect for kids and it has a slide. The huge c-dock which is the border to the swim area was the best place to fish. There was an assortment of kayaks, paddleboats, and a couple row boats included for our use. We all enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Snug Haven.

The owners opened Snug Haven in 1995. All of the original cabins have been replaced by new vacation cottages designed and built for Snug Haven. Donn and Nancy are retired academics, and Alice is retired from Dow Chemical.
Sometimes more IS better. Like more cottages available in one location, especially if you’re planning to vacation with friends and family. Snug Haven Lakeside Resort is the perfect getaway whether you need one cottage or four. We’re located on beautiful all-sports Budd Lake in Harrison Michigan (swimming, boating, and fishing for everything from panfish to sport fish to walleye to muskies). Every cottage has a gas grill and at least one picnic table; three have covered decks so you can grill in the rain (if, heaven forbid, it happens to rain while you’re here). And every cottage is fully equipped and ready to move in: beds are made, kitchen is modern and well-stocked with cookware and serving dishes, and the living areas are comfortable. Most of the furniture is Amish-built: rustic, sturdy, and beautiful at the same time. The Hideaway has central air in the main portion of the cottage as well as a gas fireplace. On top of all that, we are pet-friendly.
Our cottages are CLEAN and neat and well-equipped. Each one is different so we can accommodate groups of different sizes and configurations. You'll also be amazed by the size of our sandy beach, the unpowered watercraft there for your use, the clean and clear water in the lake (surrounded by city sewer so no "dumping" of any kind), and the presence of hungry fish.
