Welcome to Secluded Lakehouse, a roomy Chicaguan Lake retreat near Iron River where the Upper Peninsula trades traffic noise for loon calls and clear water. This 1,800-square-foot home gives up to 10 guests three bedrooms, a bunk room, three bathrooms and a private wooded shoreline setting, with broad windows that keep the lake in view even when everyone is indoors.

Inside, warm wood, stone accents and a gas fireplace give the house honest Northwoods character, while central air and heat, WiFi, satellite TV and in-home laundry keep the practical side easy. The fully equipped kitchen and multiple dining areas make family meals comfortable, and the sleeping plan includes a king bedroom, two queen bedrooms, twin beds and bunks in the sleeping nook, plus a sleeper sofa.

Outdoors, the private deck, cobblestone firepit and seasonal dock put vacation on lake time. Two kayaks, a paddleboard and a paddleboat are provided, so the morning commute can be measured in paddle strokes. Bring your own firewood, settle in for sunset, and use the inquiry form here to start a direct booking conversation with us.

Unique Features

Chicaguan Lake is the main event: 1,100 acres for boating, fishing and swimming, with clear water and a peaceful inlet just outside. The shoreline near the home is shallow, and deeper swimming water begins roughly 40 feet out; there is no private beach. The dock is generally available June 1 through October 1, weather permitting, and a boat opens up even more of the lake—including access to Pentoga Park’s sandy beach.

Back at the house, the lower level is built for the forecast that didn’t cooperate—or the family ping-pong championship nobody admits is serious. A game area, large sectional, desk setup, multiple TVs and flexible sleeping nook give groups room to spread out without losing the togetherness. Stairs are required to enter, and the six-vehicle driveway makes arrivals simple.

Things To Do

Spend warm days on Chicaguan Lake with the provided kayaks, paddleboard and paddleboat, or bring a boat for more room to roam (or rent from Youngs Golf Course). Fishing, swimming and sunset watching begin at the shoreline, while Pentoga Park offers a sandy beach that can also be reached by boat. Remember that the private dock is seasonal and lake conditions vary.

Iron River is the practical hub for dining, supplies and small-town Upper Peninsula exploring. Nearby Bewabic State Park and the Iron County Forest Preserve add beaches, wooded trails and picnic territory, while Crystal Falls and iron River make an easy second-town outing for more Northwoods scenery and local stops.

Winter changes the view but not the adventure list. Ski Brule is an easy day trip for downhill skiing and snow play, area snowmobile trails stretch for miles, and Chicaguan Lake draws ice anglers when conditions are safe. Always check local ice and trail reports before heading out—the U.P. writes its own weather forecasts in pencil.

For a longer outdoor day, explore the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Bond Falls or Whisker Lake Wilderness, both within reach of the house. Golfers can visit Iron River Country Club or George Youngs, and everyone else can claim they came along solely to admire the fairway views.

Gabriel B ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The lake house was so wonderful and was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway! We had 9 guests and it fit us perfectly. The location was so nice and we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out on the lake. We were pleasantly surprised to see some of the appliances have been updated since the pictures were last taken. Having access to what was a seemingly brand new washer, dryer and gas grill was awesome. I highly recommend this place! (May 31, 2026)
Brittany L ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a very nice cabin perfect for our extended family's weekend ski trip. There is plenty of room and sleeping spaces- offering flexibility for sleeping arrangements. The views are beautiful with sunrises over the lake. We would love going back in summer! (March 30, 2026)

About the Owner/Manager

I share Secluded Lakehouse because Chicaguan Lake is the kind of place that resets the clock. My goal is simple: give families and friends a comfortable, well-equipped home where lake days, winter adventures and relaxed evenings fit naturally together. I’ve focused on the details that make group stays easier, from flexible sleeping space, large dining tables, and a full kitchen to lake gear and room to gather. A professional guest-support team helps with reservations and stays, but I want every visit to feel personal, welcoming and worthy of a return trip.
