Welcome to Rustic Acres Lodge! Our fully furnished family-built cabin is waiting for you to enjoy! We are located in the Hiawatha National Forest just miles from the town of Munising, the entrance to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island. This is an outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise with hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, gorgeous sand beaches and numerous inland lakes accessible within a few miles. Beyond exploring the Lake Superior shoreline, spend your days enjoying the dunes and beaches on the north shore of Lake Michigan, Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Whitefish Point and Mackinac Island.

Rustic Acres Lodge has an open concept main living area that includes a living room, dining table and kitchen. Vaulted ceilings, comfortable living room furniture, and large windows bring the forest in creating a beautiful and inviting space. The fully stocked kitchen and dining room table make it a perfect space to cook and enjoy time together. The lodge sleeps 7 people. Sleeping arrangements include two downstairs bedrooms with one queen and one full bed and a loft with a queen and twin bed. The loft also has an entertainment space with games, puzzles, books and movies. In the evenings relax in the lodge enjoying the 30ft long screened porch, sit around the fire pit, or star gaze for shooting stars and the northern lights.

Rustic Acres Lodge has an ideal location close to a variety of outdoor excursions including kayaking, stand up paddling, hiking, swimming, mountain biking, fishing, and lots more. You can canoe, kayak or tube down the beautiful Indian River, designated as National Wild and Scenic River or float down the AuTrain River which empties into a beautiful sand beach on Lake Superior. Minutes away is Pete’s Lake Recreation Area ideal for swimming, boating, fishing and picnics. The forest surrounding the cabin offers a beautiful landscape and endless day hikes. Rent a pontoon boat in Munising and enjoy a private tour of Pictured Rocks and Grand Island or take a cruise tour boat from the Munising city dock.You can enjoy shopping and dining in Munising where visitors are likely to find something they'll love.

Rustic Acres has games, puzzles, books including things for younger children. The kitchen is fully equipped and meals can be made on the gas or charcoal grills on the patio. The large screened-in porch provides plenty of seating to enjoy (and bug-free!). After dark, take advantage of exceptional views of the stars or enjoy a fire in the fire pit. The Buckhorn Restaurant & Lodge is conveniently located just a few miles from Rustic Acres serving both lunch and dinner.

About the Owner/Manager

Rustic Acres Lodge is owned by a family who spent over a decade falling in love with the UP while building the lodge. As outdoor lovers ourselves, the UP was a perfect place to lay roots and “Yooper” has become part of our identity.

Over the years we have invited family, friends, and co-workers to stay at the lodge and experience it for themselves. We decided to rent our beloved cabin to extend the experience to others. With the owners a short drive away, any unforeseen issues can be quickly resolved and great care is taken for each new set of visitors.
