Once you visit our vintage, log duplex, no other vacation experience will come close - this historic lodge defines how family traditions begin. It’s a step back in time and you are just a few steps to the East shore of South Manistique Lake. The duplex has a North portion and a South portion. Both sides have an open floor plan for the kitchen & the living room and are tastefully decorated in Northwoods charm and very clean.
Fall colors typically begin in mid-September and the areas 1000s of acres of State, Federal and Corporate lands are open to hunters. How’s the snowmobiling here? SnowGoer Magazine calls it "the Best Overall Snowmobiling Area, Most Challenging, Most Scenic, and Best Powder Riding in the United States!” Snowmobile from the Lodge to the trails. Or try ice fishing, cross country skiing, ice skating and area dog sledding. During summer, it's a waterpark out your front door.
Sunset Pines Resort is just one mile away, and guests at our Whitetail Lodge have access to the resort grounds and fish cleaning facilities.
Sleeping arrangement: One King log bed in South portion with one bedroom. Two Queen log beds in North portion with two bedrooms.
The lodge is situated on five private, secluded acres. 3 miles South of Curtis, MI. It has two separate living quarters that share a large common screen porch overlooking the lake. Perfect if you have a bigger group of 7 or 8 that want to vacation together.
A private dock and 15’ boat is included with this vacation rental. Also lakeside are a picnic table and fire pit. A vacation to the Whitetail Lodge in the Upper Peninsula creates memories for a life time. The day trips are very unique: We recommend exploring the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Palms Book State Park, and the Mackinac Island where transportation is limited to horse and buggy, bicycle or foot.
With 400 feet of shoreline overlooking South Manistique Lake as your front door, you will spend plenty of time outdoors. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, hiking, 4 wheeling, fishing sightseeing or simply relaxing by lakes edge. Ask us about our pontoon boat, bass boat and canoe rentals if you want to explore the lake.
South Manistique Lake is known for its premier fishing. Curtis Michigan's Manistique Lakes boasts the largest lake complex in the Upper Peninsula. That’s a lot of walleye, northern pike, musky, perch, whitefish, and more. Making it one of the best fishing hubs in the mid-west.
