A river vacation can also be a beach vacation. Welcome to our “up north” Michigan vacation rental. We like to refer to our cottage as a wallet friendly vacation getaway for 6. We are near great beaches on Mullett Lake & Lake Huron! Gordon Turner Park is a popular choice. The Cheboygan State Park has beaches and swimming in the clean water of Lake Huron. There are several miles of trails nearby for walking, biking & ATVing. Our 46 mile long lake & river system contains 17 species of game fish, there's always something bitin' somewhere!!!
This home away from home has a full kitchen w/ coffee pot, toaster, microwave oven, all utensils, dishes, pots & pans.
Sleeping arrangement: (2) bedrooms each with (2) twin beds, pillows and comforters; the living room has a fold out sleeper sofa.
Our housekeeping Red Cabin comes with one dock slip on the Cheboygan River plus use of a 14’ fishing boat. We do have 15hp motors available for rent. Enjoy fun and relaxation on the river, or reenergize by exploring both the North Central and North Eastern State Trails - perfect for running or biking in the summer. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find more trails anywhere else in Michigan. Fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, hunting, and numerous other outdoor activities.
Downtown shopping: Unique gift stores, antiques, home decor and more. What you won’t find is a line of t-shirt shops - each store is unique.

A charcoal grill is provided so put your chef hat on and grill up that perfect steak, or maybe some fish. Maybe set by a fire in the fire-pit in the back yard. Up for a little adventure away from the cottage? View historic sites, take a leisurely stroll, or a great live performance - the Cheboygan area has plenty to do for all ages. Mackinaw City, The Island & the UP are just 20 minutes away! If you are bringing your boat, our location on the Straits of Mackinac makes getting to Huron and Michigan a breeze.
Living like a local means visiting the Cheboygan County History Center - a local museum that is the former County Jail and 1882 sheriff’s residence. It also means local eating and entertainment: Local restaurants offer fine dining, casual grill and fun bars. Fun festivals too: Waterways Festival, home of the World Championship Wanigan Race (you might want to join the fun). Looking of speed on water? The Top O’ Michigan Marathon Power Boat Race will blow you away.
