Cabin 2 at the Smith Family Resort in Cheboygan is a hidden gem of the North. Actually our entire Tip-of-the-Mitt resort offers vacationers a chance to live the lake life as it used to be. Guests visit the area to enjoy hunting or fishing, boating or biking, hiking or snowmobiling. Whatever brings you to the area, we offer our guests a taste of nostalgia that lasts a lifetime.

Inside Cabin 2 is a clean and functional living, dining and kitchen area that has the basics covered: Silverware, pots and pans, glasses, utensils, toaster, coffee maker. If you need more room for a larger group up to 26 people, we have a roof for all of them with 3 cabins and a lake cottage. All 3 of our Smith Family Resort vintage cabins come with liquid hand soap, dish detergent, toilet paper and basic cleaning supplies.

Sleeping arrangement: 2 bedrooms with 1 double bed each. Couch in the living room folds out into a bed that sleeps 2.

Unique Features

Many years ago, dozens of small family resorts dotted the inland lakes and Great Lakes in this area. The Smith Family Resort is one of the few resorts left, and has been lovingly maintained throughout the years. We are lucky to be steps away from the The North Central Trail too. Bring your bikes, running shoes, hiking shoes and cameras. Our close proximity to popular tourist destinations like Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs is a draw too - just 45 minutes from Smith Lake Family Resort!

Welcome to an area referred to as a boater's paradise that truly offers everything you could possibly desire for summer fun! There are more miles of trails and waterways here than anywhere else in the state of Michigan.

Since you book directly with us (Northern Lakes Property Management One), we can give you tips on how to live like a local during your visit. We might suggest seeing some sights in Cheboygan: Take a Lighthouse tour, relax on the waterfront or spend the day shopping and dining in our many unique shops and restaurants. The beautiful coast and beaches of Lake Huron, the Straits of Mackinaw offer great outdoor scenery.

Things to remember: Renters need to bring sheets, pillow cases, bath towels.
