Flotow Mullet Lake Cottage is a picturesque waterfront home on Mullet Lake’s west shore. Set between tall trees on a sunny patch of land not fifty steps from the lake edge, this modern cottage with its sloped roof, skylights and lake-facing windows really makes the most of its calming view and the natural light that pours into all corners of the house. This outstanding Michigan cottage offers three large bedrooms with knotted pine interior paneling, custom rough-hewn log bed frames and cozy up-north décor to comfortably accommodate up to eight overnight guests.
On the main floor, an open floor plan encompasses a wide living room with a brick fireplace and a walk-through to a four-seasons sun room. A cutout interior window enables socialization between the sitting room and the kitchen, which guests will find to be fully outfitted with dining and cookware, counter space, utensils and modern appliances. There is also a dining room with seating for eight, surrounded on two sides with picture windows. A second-story loft offers open lines of sight to the main living areas via the vaulted ceilings.
Sleeping arrangements: One bedroom on the main floor is furnished with a queen-sized bed. On the second level, bedroom two offers a full-sized bed and bedroom three has two twin-sized beds.
Flotow Mullett Lake Cottage covers all of the various degrees of being outside — from the wide windows to the enclosed porch to the outdoor sun deck to the dock over the water, guests will find their perfect comfort zone with the Michigan outdoors. Shore stations are provided to safely store guests’ own boats — one for a 20-foot boat at a max weight of 4,000 pounds and the other for a 16-foot boat with a max weight of 1,500 pounds — while a mooring buoy in the water offers a quick-access launch.
Benches at the end of the dock are a nice place to sit in the sun and enjoy the breeze or an early morning sunrise. The lake bottom is sandy and pleasant for swimming and wading. Guests can also enjoy a summer evening’s bonfire in the fire pit on the side of the cabin.
Visitors to Mullet Lake can enjoy any manner of water sports, including swimming and fishing, ice fishing, jet skiing, parasailing and tubing. Trails in the area are open year-round to accommodate hiking, biking and cross-country skiing, as well as ATVs and snowmobiles
There are scenic golf courses and public hunting lands open seasonally. Visitors have easy access to Burt Lake State Park and WaWatam Park, both of which offer one-of-a-kind exploring and photography opportunities. Take a day trip to cross the Mackinac Bridge or board a ferry to the charming attractions of Mackinac Island. A drive through the wider country side will reveal numerous historical sites and picturesque lighthouses.
Most of all, guests should be sure to try out the local restaurants — or combine your meal and tour with a dining experience inside The Lighthouse Restaurant. Quaint shops and souvenirs can be found on the island or in many of the inviting area towns.

Flotow Mullett Lake Cottage rents at a weekly rate of $2,400.00 with a seven-night minimum stay. Rentals run from Saturday to Saturday.
A refundable damage deposit of $400.00 is required to hold the rental. A cleaning fee of $150.00 and a 6-percent state tax will be applied to all rentals.
