https://www.rentmichigancabins.com/admin/properties/1750/edit#tab2Evergreen Cottage is a charming, two-bedroom vacation rental nestled between the pines on a private lot near Lake Superior. This 950-square foot Michigan rental cottage is located in the cheerful village of Christmas, MI, just three miles from Munising and 40 miles east of Marquette.

Evergreen Cottage is fully furnished, with linens and towels provided, as well as a starter pack of paper products and soaps. This lake community home includes a modern kitchen with dishes, utensils and cookware to accommodate six guests. There is dining space for six at a family sit-down table, as well as an outdoor picnic table on the deck, which opens off the dining room.

The living room is comfortable and cozy, near the kitchen with a sofa, a plush rocking chair, a flat-screen cable TV, and a gas fireplace. This cottage for rent in the Upper Peninsula has hardwood floors and homey area rugs. The large, private yard is secluded and great for pets.

Sleeping arrangements: There are two private bedrooms at Evergreen Cottage. Each is furnished with a queen-sized bed. There is also a full-sized sleeper sofa in the sunroom, and a twin-sized rollaway mattress can be provided upon request.

Unique Features

Our guests love the quiet, wooded yard and wilderness view at Evergreen cottage. The yard is grassy and level, with outdoor dining space and a charcoal grill (charcoal is not provided). This rustic property is bordered by a scenic river running along the back of the house that flows into an inland lake and eventually empties into Lake Superior, about a half-mile away. This house can be rented in conjunction with the nearby Trailhead Lodge to accommodate larger groups.

Things To Do

From Evergreen Cottage, you can easily walk or bike the half-mile to Lake Superior and enjoy the clean, public sand beach and picnic area. This northern Michigan rental home is conveniently located to local restaurants, a casino and two other great public beaches at Sand Point and Autrain.

This area is a photographer’s paradise, with several beautiful, natural waterfalls nearby. It’s only a few minutes away from the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore — not to mention thousands of acres of state forest. This region is crossed over by hundreds of miles of nature trails that open seasonally for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ATVs. Find the trail entrance just steps from the front door at Evergreen Cottage!

Lake Superior and other inland freshwater lakes are great for exploring the most beautiful sites in and around the Upper Peninsula. Paddle tours in kayaks and canoes can be scheduled with local guides, or you can take a relaxing sunset cruise with Pictured Rocks Cruises. You can even golf — or minigolf — within a five minutes’ drive from the house.

Other fun local experiences include shopping the antique shops, browsing the galleries of local artists, charter fishing, glass-bottom shipwreck historical tours, or visiting the Grand Island National Recreation Area. You can also take a day trip to the neighboring city of Munising for regular Tuesday live music in the park.

Reviews

Our family had a wonderful time at Evergreen Cottage. It had Everything we needed, the kitchen was one of the best stocked I’ve seen. The beds were comfortable, as were the living room furnishings. We loved walking in the yard with our dog. Even though the cottage is in a subdivision, it felt very private, which was what we desired. Loved listening to the Creek gurgle while sitting by the fire pit. The cottage is centrally located between Munising and AuTrain, which provided us lots of opportunities for exploring. Being able to bring our dog was great, as she’s our baby. We will be back! — Tamara S., Sept. 2019
My husband, mother and I stayed at Evergreen Cottage August 3-11, 2019. The cottage was perfect for our needs in that it had a secluded feel while still being in close proximity to Munising. We were able to enjoy several day trips and then relax in comfort at the Cottage in the evenings. We really enjoyed the fire pit near the brook in the backyard and the beds were so comfortable. If we are able to make it the Upper Peninsula again we will definitely choose Evergreen Cottage again. — Cindy V., Aug. 2019
We wanted a nice place to stay and bring our dogs with us on vacation! Evergreen Cottage worked great! It is private and not on a busy road. The yard is large and there is a nice little stream in the backyard. It was perfectly located to take our boat to the city boat launch in Munising to see Pictured Rocks! It was amazing, a must do! We were also close to the AuTrain beach which is really nice. The house was clean and nice. The beds are very comfortable. We would stay again if in the area. Thank you! — Erica W., July 2019
Such a wonderful place to stay, loved it, decided to rebook for next year! Super friendly and answered with quick response! — Janelle R., Feb. 2019
The Evergreen cottage has been our destination cottage for snowmobiling for many years. I can't say enough about how clean and cozy the cottage is, not to mention the excellent location. Highly recommended. — Craig K., Jan. 2019
Very clean and cozy place, very nice get away with everything you could ask for. Beds were super comfy and Wi-Fi worked great. Will stay here again! — Valerie S., Oct. 2018
Cozy little get-away (5 stars from TripAdvisor/Flipkey Review) Left on Feb 22, 2018 for a stay in Jan 2018 This was the perfect location for our couples annual snowmobile trip. The trail is right out the driveway.Trails were nicely groomed and plenty of snow. Foggy's restaurant was right at the end of the road too. The two bedroom cabin was perfect for our group of 4. Everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. The fireplace was so nice to come home to after a day on the trails. We had an issue with the carbon monoxide detector going off and the owner came and fixed the problem immediately. (it was just a faulty detector) Plenty of room to park the truck and trailer. We hope to come back to this cottage again in the future. — Jan L., Jan. 2018
Perfect location close to town but in a quiet neighborhood. An awesome backyard for relaxing by the fire and watching the creek. Clean cottage with comfy beds! Would definitely stay here again. — Krithana M., Oct. 2017
Thanks Lisa! We had a Great Time and enjoyed Evergreen Cottage! Our youngest Son graduated from NMU 3yrs ago and "Drank the Water" and works and lives in the area. We look forward to dealing direct with you on our next visit, could be this winter! Please keep me informed with properties that are good deals! — Thomas R., Sept. 2017
My family and I enjoyed our stay Evergreen Cottage in the Pictured Rocks area. The cottage was only 5 minutes from Munising and located in a nice quiet location. The cottage was clean and ready for our stay when we arrived. The owners have definitely been busy updating the property and the changes made the space very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying at the cottage. Was also an easy drive to Au Train to explore the township. — Bill C., July 2017
