This cottage is on the uncrowded, all-sports Upper Herring Lake. All the privacy you need is found on our 2.5 acres - on a quite, peaceful country road. We like to describe the cottage as Luxury with a rustic edge. Designed with the family in mind, there are separate areas for adults and little ones alike!
Home includes the use of a free pontoon boat w/10 gal free fuel, (Memorial week til Mid October), Floating Aqua-Play-Mat (Memorial Week thru Labor Day Week), kayaks (May 1st til Nov 1st), and row boat (April 1st til Nov 15th), and a full dock with room for your boat (Mid-May til Nov 1st).
Inside reflects our attention to details: Custom ceramic tile, 5" plank flooring, custom woodwork, antique claw foot tub - antique and custom furniture. Just a 2 minute walk down the boardwalk path is the waterfront with all the water toys your group will need! Fee Pontoon Boat, Row boat, 2 kayaks, 1 towable water trampoline w/tow rope, life jackets in various shapes & sizes
Sleeping arrangement: Bedroom 1 on the main floor has a queen bed. Bedroom 2 on the 2nd floor has a queen bed. Bedroom 3 on the 2nd floor has a queen bed. Bedroom 4 on the 2nd floor has a single bunk bed and full futon. The living room has 2 full futons. There are 2 portable cots and 1 pack-n-play.

Even the journey to the cottage is unique: twist through rolling hills and woodlands, and stop at the orchards and vineyards before you get to Farmhouse Cottage. Once you arrive you can enjoy a home that was built specifically to fit in with these surroundings. Not to mention a waterfront full of summer fun!
Use the well-stocked kitchen, or leave the meals to the real cooks: Nearby Empire, Glen Arbor, and Leland, MI offer shopping and incredible restaurants. A North Manitou Island dinner cruise works too!
Things To Do
Searching for a romantic Sleeping Bear Dunes vacation getaway? Pick your season because the doors are open year round. Guests have raved about skiing Crystal Mountain and golfing at the near Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course. The cottage is just minutes from Lake Michigan beaches and Traverse City too! You might never leave the lake though. Bring your boat or jet skis and use the full dock with moorings. Your day on the lake might end with a group gathering around the fire pit (with plenty of chairs). The Great Room has an HDTV, w/Dish Top 200 w/movie channels (and Dish Multisport pack, Late Sept Til Late March), DVD player w/DVD library. Upstairs Gameroom has foosball/game table, PS2 w/games, and an assortment of board games!

7 adults, 5 kids, 3 doges and this lovely cottage has make a lovely memory. Boating, swimming, sight seeing and much laughter. This vacation has been so wonderful for gramma and the entire family. Kids especially liked the pontoon boat, go karting, mini-golf, water slides at the Fun Country Park. Humming birds in the yard, deer, coyotes, swings, loft bedroom, tubing and Sleeping Bear Dunes also top our list. The landscaping with the flowers is lovely and everyone enjoyed the sunsets and nights time stars. Guest book comment.
