Ascend to the loft area, a hidden gem within this rustic haven. Here, you'll find a full-size bed for peaceful slumber and a snug beanbag bed/chair that invites you to immerse yourself in a good book or simply unwind.
Embrace the cabin's rustic allure with an outhouse that adds a touch of nostalgia, preserving the authentic atmosphere. For added convenience, an indoor camping commode is at your disposal. An outdoor tub has been recently installed with running cold water. Please note that, currently, additional showers are not available.
Her-See Path: A forest and creek trail leading to the Chartres Labyrinth. Return via the trail along the fence or wind back to the main two-track.
Northstar Trail: Starts between the main house and garage, crosses the creek, and runs across from the Mother Lodge.
Heron Path: Starts just south of Keefer Cabin, crosses the creek, and makes a loop.
White Pine Trail Linear State Park: Paved for biking, roller skating, and hiking. Accessed by walking past the campsite area to the west of the fork in the road at the entrance to the property.
Spirit Wheel Julie Keefer's Memorial:
As you step out your front door, walk past the garden and up the road towards and just past Kay Blue, across from gabriel's cabin, the spirit wheel will be to your left through the trees. Instructions are inside the box by the spirit wheel.
Labyrinths:
Meander along the trails spread across our 35 acres or explore the adjacent 90 acres, fostering a seamless connection with our neighboring friends to the south. Morningstar's expansive property beckons with a second labyrinth, a spiritual wheel, and a contemplative wailing wall, all nestled within the encompassing 125 acres of woodlands, babbling creek, verdant gardens, and hidden corners for contemplation.
A short stroll leads you to the White Pine Linear State Park, a 90-mile paved pathway stretching from Grand Rapids to Cadillac, perfect for a leisurely bike excursion and a halfway rest stop. Just a brief five-minute drive away, Ashton Corner Store caters to your immediate needs, while the town of LeRoy, a mere five miles north, offers a small market and a selection of restaurants.
