Sandy beach frontage with stunning views of Wolf Lake. Now that's a great Michigan vacation experience! In the family room are plenty of comfortable chairs and cozy "up north" wood panel walls. Although there are many restaurants nearby, Cottage 1 has a well-furnished kitchen that is perfect for the camp cook. Outside we have a dock, fire pit, picnic table, and grill (charcoal, propane, and electric). Cabin time here involves lots of fresh air.
Affordable Family Cottages is a family owned 2 cottage resort. Got more than 6 people? Rent both lakefront cottages for your larger group. We want our guests to feel very comfortable, so we provide clean cottages that are smoke and pet free.
Sleeping arrangement: 2 bedrooms, each with a full size bed and a pull-out sofa.
Wolf Lake has a no wake ordinance before 11 am and after 7:30pm. During the day it turns into a full recreation lake! You can boat, water ski, tube, etc. A rowboat and paddle boat are provided with each cottage. You are also welcome to bring your own boat and dock it right in front of the cottage (there is a public launch on the other side of the lake).
Wolf lake is spring fed, which means it's very clean. The area in front of the cottage is firm (not murky) with a gradual drop off, ideal for children who want to spend the day swimming. FISHING TIP: One of the best places for fishing is right in front of the cottage.
Recently there was a sighting of a bald eagle soaring around the lake. Many guests also have spotted green herons too. When you stay at Affordable Family Cottages - keep your eyes open for these rare birds plus other nature surprises.
The beach is just steps from the cottage. Kids always have a blast on the sandy beach and in the crystal clear water. There is also many public beaches nearby.
Typical fish in Wolf Lake include Blue-gill, sunfish, perch, large mouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and bullheads. We bet you can taste the fish frying over the open fire already. FISHING TIP: We recommend fishing in the morning and evenings due to the no wake ordinance.
Local attractions include the Lakeshore Museum Center, the Muskegon Museum of Art, the USS Silversides Submarine Museum and the Frauenthal Theater. Since you book directly with us, we can suggest several things to do in the area. Just ask!
