Van Buren County, Michigan was founded in the 19th century (The first settler came in 1829) and named after the 8th US president, Martin Van Buren, before he became president. The area offers a variety of great opportunities for visitors to spend time exploring the area in unique ways. It offers a lot especially in the line of natural spaces, small businesses to visit that are representative of aspects of the area, and historical centers and museums.
Hikers and bikers will rejoice when they come to the area because of all of the trails that they have access to. In South Haven, Michigan, you can head to Van Buren State Park or Kal-Haven Trail State Park for beautiful views and trails.
