Reviews

I just spent time at this cottage for the second time, and I am never disappointed. The place is spotlessly clean, which is a priority for me. The owners Karen and Richard are easy to contact and they respond to emails right away (with no third party website involved!). The cottage sits on a small, scenic lake, making it feel like a quiet escape, yet Munising is only a 15 minute drive away. And this area of Michigan is God’s country when it comes to trails, lakes, and rivers within a few minutes of the cottage. Can’t wait to come back! Mike M
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. It was a perfect place for our adventures at Pictured Rocks and our search for other waterfalls. Even on our rainy day we enjoyed the view, darts, foosball, and playing euchre. We enjoyed a movie one night as well. Your place is so clean and well stocked for cooking. I have already recommended it to a friend! The brownies were wonderful and so appreciated! Again thank you for your hospitality! Nan Hansen
Our stay at Bruno’s Rest was perfect. The home was very clean and the lake and kayaks were fun. Everything was so peaceful and relaxing. Karen was a great host and kept in contact with me updating me on the current pandemic. She was so easy to talk with and answered any questions promptly. I enjoyed talking with her on the phone when we were planning our trip. She had brownies waiting for us upon our arrival and it was such a nice surprise. The brownies were yummy too. I would love to stay here again if in the area. My family and I would actually really like to relocate to the upper peninsula from Ohio. It was beautiful and we enjoyed every moment or our trip. Thanks again. Crystal
The lake is perfect. It is quiet, calm, and natural. The cottage is very clean, well decorated , and extremely comfortable. The cottage is exactly what a UP cottage should be like. The local store, and hiking trails are all within walking distance. The cottage is in the middle of nowhere (which is a good thing), but it is also within a short drive to Munising and Manistique. The UP is only about forty miles wide in this location. There are two good restaurants if you are interested. The Brownstone Restaurant is located about one mile west of Au Train. The Dock Restaurant is right on the shore of Lake Michigan, located in a small marina. The marina/restaurant is in the town of Garden near the Fayette Historic State Park. The owners of Brunosrest, Karen and Richard are excellent to work with. We will definitely return for another visit. And yes, I would and did recommend this cottage to my family and friends.
