Hug the Lake Superior shoreline from Big Bay, around Grand Island and over to Grand Marais.

Munising in Spring: Pack your fishing gear! The lakes and streams within the Hiawatha National Forest area trout fisherman’s dream. The area waterfalls put on their best show in the spring and are worth a day hike to see - many falls can be seen roadside too.
Munising in Summer: Get outdoors and stay outdoors. Ask us about biking, hiking, sightseeing, canoeing, jet skiing, ATVing. A memorable Pictured Rocks Cruise is recommended. You can even view structure and shipwrecks on a glass bottom boat ride. If scuba diving is on your bucket list, diving attractions include “sea caves” and intact shipwrecks.
Munising in Fall: With so much ‘color’ It’s nearly impossible to take a bad picture. We recommend taking the scenic byway Highway 13, a 36 mile twisting stretch of stunning colors. While out-and-about, see how many unique lighthouses you can find. HINT: 2 lighthouses can only be viewed by air or water.
Munising in Winter: Waterfalls change into huge ice towers and finding miles of white tunnels through the Hiawatha forest are easy while snowmobiling - which is the biggest draw to the Upper Peninsula when the temps drop. Summer rates run from Memorial week to September (after Labor day week) at $3150/week, with weekly rentals running Friday to Friday.
Fall rates run from September (after Labor Day week) through October at $350/night.
Not available from November through April.
Rates are based on eight guests including children; cleaning fee $275. Each additional guest adds $150/week plus tax each. Groups of more than eight guests add an extra $50 clean up charge (one time). One-half of the total rental amount is due upon reservation. A refundable security/damage fee is required to hold the cabin. Pets/dogs $125 each.
Cancellations of summer rentals (June through August) will receive no refund after May 1.
Cancellations during all other times of the year will receive a refund less a cancellation fee up to 45 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Cancellations made within 45 days of the scheduled arrival date may not be refunded unless we are able to rebook the property.

First, Lisa was very responsive throughout the booking process and our stay. Second, wow. Sunrise Beach made for a memorable family weekend. The shore of Lake Superior have always been special to our family. In the past I have camped in the area. But, I am a new mom and we were visiting for a wedding so we wanted to have an experience that would allow a few generations of us (with different physical challenges and needs) to have a memorable stay with more comforts than camping and more intimacy than a hotel. We chose correctly! The details and photos on the website are accurate and show and tell you exactly what you can expect. The website can't do justice, however, to the sunrise or sunset you can experience from a screened in porch or on the beach just a few steps from the cabin. We prepared our own meals. This was our second time staying at a property managed by Lisa, and our second time with a great experience! The location of the property is ideally situated for restaurants, waterfall hiking and Lake Superior recreation. Also convenient for drives to AuTrain and Marquette. A++ on location. The cleanliness and overall condition was also very good. I enjoyed the small touches such as a tablecloth on the table and a hand-written note and wildflowers from the owners. Beds were very comfortable and the fireplace looked appealing though we did not use it as it was very hot while we were there. The owners had two powerful fans in the bedrooms along with ceiling fans in the living room/kitchen. We appreciated those. TV and WIFI worked great. Jennifer
The cottage was very clean, and we had a wonderful stay, perfect for our vacation. We had fabulous weather, a couple of days of great waves and the rest of great sunrises and our toes in the sand and discovering the area. Because the weather was so mild we were even able to get in a short charter fishing trip with Captain Mitch and Shelter Bay Charters and caught some very nice lake trout our favorite. The Haugens
