We were very impressed with the house! It was very clean but felt like home as soon as we walked in the door. We love being able to get away and this was the perfect place to do it, we will be back! — Alexis S., Feb. 2019
Our group had a wonderful time here. The house has been totally updated and very tastefully decorated. It was really comfy and everyone had a great time. All that we needed was here, from kitchen supplies to games to very nice towels! Already booked for a return trip back here in the summer. — James N., Feb. 2019
My family and I (4) decide to visit Shanty for a weekend of skiing and rented Jims home. Upon arrival we realized what a gem it was with the great location (close to the slopes) that we had. The amenities that came with the home including the AMAZING REC ROOM were so much fun after a long day on the hills we all had something to do... We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and will certainly return again. — Chad S., Feb. 2019
Curling up with a cup of coffee in the morning, watching the day get brighter through the grand windows was sick a great way to start the day! The home is clean, comfortable, and great for a group. There's plenty to do for all ages, but it's just as nice doing next to nothing and enjoying the view! — Beth R., Feb. 2019
What a great vacation! This house is beautiful, large, and equipped with everything you'll need. We visited for some skiing at Schuss and craft beer at Shorts Brewery, both were less than 10 minutes away and made this location perfect. Already looking forward to summer dates for a golf trip! Definitely recommending to my friends and family for a great get away. — Christopher S., Feb. 2019
There’s everywhere else, and then there’s Up North. My brother Joe and I (Jim Meloche) started NorthernMichiganCabins.com after years of vacationing in Northern Michigan. We spent our childhood vacations skiing, golfing, fishing, swimming and exploring the lakes and rivers. Eight years ago, we bought our first vacation home in the area and started turning cabin time into a full-time lifestyle.
We love mountain biking, snowboarding and staring aimlessly at the pines — sometimes with a bourbon in-hand. We also love rehabilitating run-down properties into beautiful and unique vacation homes. The North holds some of our favorite memories, and now it can be home to some of yours.
