The AuSable Riverhome is a six-person cottage on the river’s edge, with two bedrooms, one and a half bath, and accommodations for six — and a killer view. This pet-friendly home on the river has 200 feet of private shoreline, perfect for fishing or just watching the ducks float by.
The cottage has a large kitchen with a unique stonework countertop, perfect for preparing family-style meals. There is also a small dining area, a card table and chairs, and a sitting room with deep armchairs cozied in around a gas fireplace and a large flat-screen TV.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, a dish washer and an ensemble of pots and pans, dishes and utensils. Guests to the cottage are welcome to bring vehicles and watercraft — there is plenty of space to park in the long, paved driveway.
Sleeping arrangements: Bedrooms at AuSable Riverhome are simple and clean with dressers to store clothing on longer stays. Bedroom one is furnished with a queen-sized bed and bedroom two is furnished with two twin-sized beds. Two additional sleeper sofas are available in the living area.
This cottage really makes the most of its beautiful natural setting, with a furnished screen porch equipped with table and chairs and a gas outdoor grill. There is also an outdoor fireplace on the wide, level lawn, an open-air picnic table and a river walk with swings that look out on the water.
The AuSable Riverhome occupies a prime waterfront lot right at the edge of the river. This means great river fishing from shore, as well as easy access to charter boats and guided fishing trips. The AuSable River leads directly into Lake Huron, where visitors can angle for big game fish, watch fireworks over the water on the fourth of July or browse the sandy shorelines for annual festivals such as Art on the Beach.
Oscoda is also home to a thriving local dining and shopping scene, as well as local landmarks such as the Charity Island Lighthouse. The area is surrounded by a number of scenic trails for hiking and biking and plays host to dozens of community races and other competitions and festival events throughout the year. Enjoy your private view of the AuSable or venture out to socialize at the public beaches and boat launches.

Wonderful time spent here this weekend, stayed here a couple times before and always love it! — Katie Parrot, June 30, 2018
Had a great weekend at the home. Me, my husband and two daughters stayed. Although the weather wasn’t very good and rained the whole weekend, we still managed to get out and fish, home was more accommodating than most others, and welcomed our 2 small dogs. We will return. — Tracy Thompson, June 26, 2018
We loved this house. It has all the amenities you'll need, including two bathrooms and air conditioning! Spacious! Expansive glass front facing the river. Firepit, grill, it's all in the house description. Very comfortable place, on a huge property. — M & D Gore, December 5, 2017
We had an excellent stay, such a beautiful property! All the amenities were provided in a wonderful location. The rental was clean and homey. We can't wait to return! — Melissa Wright, July 5, 2017
Enjoyed our Weekend at this lovely location... spacious open concept! Had all the comforts of home... would recommend this location! — Lisa Allotta, October 11, 2016
We recently stayed here while in town for a wedding. This home is very inviting and comfortable. The 2 living rooms is such a great feature. My husband loved getting up and fishing right out back after we watched the sun rise up over the river from our bed... Need I say more? :) Hot tub, pet friendly and all the amenities you could ask for. We will be back! — Amber Fudacz, August 16, 2016
