Maple Grove Cottage is one of three Traverse City Vacation Cottage resort rentals located on spring-fed Silver Lake. The Northern Michigan waterfront cottage shares 70 feet of sandy beach where you’ll have lots of recreational options. There is a dock for boats, a separate dock for people, two paddle boards, two kayaks, a swimming raft, and a row boat shared by Willow, Maple, and Pines cottages. A larger family or families traveling together have the option of renting the cottages together. Silver Lake’s hard, sandy bottom and crystal-clear, sparkling water is perfect for swimming. There are a few islands and several peninsulas in the lake you’ll want to explore - and you have lots of options for getting out on the water!
The modern 1,100 sq. ft. Silver Lake cabin is on 1.2 acres of land with large grassy areas for all your family’s favorite lawn games. There is off-street parking for two cars and a boat trailer, but no RVs are allowed.
The Maple Grove lakefront cabin is sparkling clean with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Two bedrooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. The updated bathrooms are ceramic tiled, one with a tub/shower combination and shower in the second. The living room has beautiful hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, a spacious black leather sectional sofa facing picture windows with views of the lake, and a flat screen cable-connected TV. There is also a TV in bedrooms 1 and 2, and free WIFI. The comfortable chairs on the covered porch may be you favorite place to kick back and relax while you absorb the beauty of the lake and its surrounding mature pines and hardwoods.
The updated modern kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster, pots/pans, dinnerware, flatware, glasses, cookie sheets, and baking dishes. The large drop-leaf dining table seats eight, and you’ll enjoy the expansive views of the lake from the bay window. A picnic table and gas grill provides an outdoors cooking/dining option. While all bed linens are provided, be sure and bring your own bath, beach, and kitchen towels, as they are not provided.
Sleeping Arrangements: Bedroom 1 – queen bed, Bedroom 2 – queen bed, Bedroom 3 – 2 sets of bunk beds. Bedroom 3 is available from mid-June till Labor Day weekend.

Aaaaaaaah, yes! I rented this lovely cottage based on the owner's description and one review, then held my breath. Well, not to worry, the cottage is as described. It is very clean, updated, nicely decorated, and quiet. Yes, the owners are next door, but are very respectful of renters' privacy, yet available if you need something. There are two cottages total that share the lake frontage with the owners. Owner Marian has taken great care (and a lot of work!) to create lovely gardens with a hint of whimsy. We had all the amenities we needed for preparing most meals in. The three bedrooms and one of the two baths are off the kitchen, separated by a door from the living areas, so if you are early to bed or early to rise, the quiet is a nice surprise. :) We were only four miles from the local Meijer and about 10-15 minutes from downtown Traverse City. So, we had the beauty and quiet of the lake, with the conveniences of downtown nearby. We stayed for two weeks: week one with friends to explore the many wineries, and week two with family, including a four-year-old, who absolutely loved the sandy beach and water. In addition to wineries, we explored Sleeping Bear Dunes, Pierce Stocking Drive, Glen Arbor, Leleand, the Art Park at Crystal Mountain, and the Dennos museum. We truly enjoyed our stay, and hope to return. the sooner the better! Janice F.
Perfect Weekend Getaway! This property was exactly what my wife and I needed to get away from the busyness of life for a weekend. We had a great time walking on the sand along the waterfront and chillin' in the hammock. The facilities were very nice and there was plenty of space for us to unwind and relax. Seeing how this property is so close to Traverse City, it is the perfect retreat to unwind and still have easy access to city life. The owners Tom and Marian are also delightful hosts; they are very kind and personable. I highly recommend this property. Keegan C.
Can't wait to go back! I was somewhat hesitate to rent the Maple Grove Cottage, because it didn't have any reviews yet, which made me a little uncomfortable, although I think I understand why now; everyone wants to keep this little gem their secret! Prior to arriving, Marian was very helpful in answering all the many questions I had, and gave us a lot of tips and suggestions. She always answered my e-mail inquiries in a very pleasant and timely fashion! On arrival, upon opening the door I knew we had made the right decision! The fresh clean smell of the cottage was very inviting to a germaphobe as myself! The cottage is just as it appears in the pictures and is very clean! Something we noticed, that is usually lacking in other rentals, is that the cottage was very soundproof! We couldn't hear the other couple in their room, even though we were right next to each other! That applied to the whole cottage, bathrooms included. Solid construction! Basically, the entire property is quiet, the few neighbors including the Brady's are all very quiet and respectful of each other. Lastly, we just loved Marian and her husband "Tom Brady"! lol They were so accommodating and helpful and very pleasant to chat with! I even left some items behind, and Marian shipped them back to me within 3 days of my calling her! can't wait to return to Maple Grove, it is one of our new favorite vacation spots! Judy K.

We live in a separate cottage on the resort with our own 30 feet of lakefront that you are free to use. Our seaplane docked there and would be glad to provide aerial tours to our guests. The resort has been in existence since the 1930's when Silver Lake just had a few resorts and family cottages dotting the landscape. We are recognized by Traverse City's township to legally operate as a short-term vacation rental. Since we also live on the property, feel free to stop by for sightseeing advice and restaurant recommendations. We have maps of nearby biking, walking trails, winery/brewery brochures and directions to places only the locals know about.
