Thelen Burt Lake Cottage is a modern, two-story vacation home with sweeping, level frontage on the eastern shore of Burt Lake. At 3,800 square feet, this roomy lake house has plenty of room for a group of 10. On the main level, an open-concept floor plan includes a wide living area with a sitting room, dining room and kitchen. The sitting room is furnished with a love seat and gliding rocker positioned between a polished stone fireplace and a flat-screen TV.
Picture windows on the lake-facing side extend from the sitting room through to the dining room, where a formal dining room table offers seating for six guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including a dishwasher, as well as ample storage, a prep island a breakfast bar and plenty of counter space. Dinnerware and cookware are provided onsite. Bedrooms on the upper level open out onto a balcony that overlooks the lake and manicured lawn. This house is comfortable and beautifully decorated, with satellite TV and high-speed internet throughout.
Sleeping arrangements: Four private bedrooms are available for guests at Thelen Burt Lake Cottage. On the main level, a master suite with a walk-through bath is furnished with a queen-sized bed. On the upper level two private bedrooms contain a second queen-sized bed and a bunk bed system with a twin-sized mattress lofted over a full-sized bed, and an additional full-sized trundle bed. In a wide upper-level hallway, guests will find a full-sized futon bed.
The lake view from the upper level of this upscale cabin is truly spectacular, offering clear lines of sight to the water over the treetops. This property has a large, private, manicured law, shaded at the edges by mature trees and sloping gently to the water’s edge.
Guests can fish or swim right from shore, and also enjoy access to a private pier and boat lift (2,500-pound capacity), as well as the complimentary use of a rowboat, a kayak and a paddleboat. Thelen Burt Lake House is the perfect, laid-back setting for your summer memories.
Located on the popular east end of Burt Lake, this cottage is less than an hour’s drive from tourist destinations in Cheboygan, Indian River, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City and Harbor Springs. Popular activities include horse-and-buggy tours, biking excursions, ferry rides and shopping.
There is also a wide variety of local restaurants and cuisine. Burt Lake is a large, body of water that provides sporting opportunities such as fishing, paddling, sailing, swimming, waterskiing and tubing. The surrounding area is also traversed by nature trails ideal for hiking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing. For guests looking to get out of the house but not wander too far, Hoppies restaurant and bar has wonderful food and is not a half mile down the road from our Burt Lake cottage.

Thelen Burt Lake Cottage requires a seven-night minimum stay.
Rentals run Saturday through Saturday at a rate of $3,000.00 per week.
A refundable damage deposit of $400.00 is required to reserve the home.
And additional cleaning fee of $150.00 will be charged per stay.
A tax rate of 6 percent will be applied to all rentals.
Cancellations taken a minimum of 60 days prior to the arrival date will receive a full refund.
