You can also rent one of the resort’s pontoon boats with daily and weekly rental rates, but make sure to put in your reservation when you make your cabin reservation.

Families will appreciate all the on-site recreation with a playground area that includes swing sets, basketball court, shuffleboard court, volleyball and a community fire pit. Two paddle boats and kayaks are also available for guest use at no extra charge.

Things To Do

Your own resort boat moored in front your cabin makes it easy to get out on Houghton Lake to fish for blue gill, perch, pike, bass, and crappie. Check out the “Catch Us If You Can” fishing contest rules in case you happen to catch that special fish worth $100,000 or a new boat!

You’ll find plenty of casual and fine dining options in Houghton. For after-dinner entertainment, your family will all delight in seeing a first-class feature film at the unique Pines Theatre, originally designed in 1941 to look like a hunter’s cabin with 40-foot cathedral log ceilings and a large collection of trophy game animals.

The resort is a short drive to the 5K groomed Lost Twin Lakes Trail for cross country skiing through a breathtaking beautiful undeveloped forest. Drive a little further to Roscommon for 18 km of Nordic Skiing / Snowshoeing trails with its own cozy lodge, food and hot beverages. A store on-site rents cross-country and snow shoeing equipment.

Us and our dogs really loved the fire place while my husband enjoyed the ice. Great time. Lacey Lynn Simmons
Just got back from four great nights staying at the resort. Fished a tourney in St. Helen and Foughts went out of their way to make sure we had the best parking for a quick in at night, and out on the road in the morning. The last two nights we stayed, got into some great bluegill fishing out on Houghton. Chuck Mason
Went ice fishing all weekend had a comfy stay with my dog and caught some nice fish launching out and walking from this side of Houghton Lake also met some great friends from this that I'll continue to fish with for along time I'll definitely be returning. Jason Bow
