Unique Features

Foughts Resort has a park like setting which is perfect for weddings and family reunions. We have the room too: There are 8 cabins at the resort - six are log cabins if you’re searching for something authentic. All cabins have a screened porch with resin table & four chairs, picnic table and a charcoal grill so you can impress your group with dinner outdoors. Maybe a fish fry dinner (blue gill, pike, bass, crappie or perch top our list). Since you book directly with us, we’d be glad to mark up a map with fishing hot spots and popular Houghton Lake destinations.

Cabin time at Foughts Resort might just make you rich: Every year fishermen have a chance to win $100,000 and new Lund boat at the Come Catch Us If You Can Fishing Contest that takes place on Houghton Lake, Higgins lake and Lake St. Helen. You’re hunting for Wally Walleye or Betty Bass and their small panfish friends.

Things To Do

Witness the most beautiful sunsets ever during your family vacation or weekend getaway. Bring your boat and use our easy access dock, or rent one of ours. Resort amenities include basket ball court, shuffleboard court, badminton, swing set, horseshoes, volleyball. Witness winter’s largest Michigan festival: Tip Up Town USA.

If the largest inland lake in Michigan (22,000 Houghton Lake) isn’t enough water FUN, head to the Funland Amusement Park for waterslides, putt-putt golf, go-carts, haunted house, bumper cars. If your family or friends love horses, take a half day and saddle up at the Karefree Ranch. Ask us where to find nearby tennis courts; canoeing & tubing, restaurants, historical museums, antique shops, even local auto racing.

Things to remember: Furnish their own full-size bed linens, towels, and paper products. We have a coin laundry on the premises.

Rick and Nancy were more than helpful and made us feel like we were just some of thier family staying with them. They made the offer for us to use what fired wood they had cut at no cost, we would have used it all and i dont think they would have cared. It was an extremely fair price for the stay and amenities that we had and used. We will be using foughts resort for now on when visiting Houghton lake area. Mark Noteboom
