Imagine a vacation that includes fishing (Pike, Walleye, Bluegill and Perch); beautiful sunsets; sailing; golfing; and canoeing. Our Driftwood Resort is on Michigan's largest inland lake, 22,000 acre Houghton Lake! You don’t have to hibernate when the snow flies and the lake freezes either - The annual Tip-UP Town, USA winter festival is highlight of winter. Enjoy some lake living on the quiet North Shore of the lake.
The Timber is our newest and largest cottage! It is fully equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Timber Cabin guests can use the resort amenities too: a large play set, volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, bocce ball, shuffleboard courts and basketball. Our new ACE's Perch recreational building has ping-pong, air hockey, darts, board games and more indoor fun.
Everyone at the resort loves the large spaces. A large grass recreation are, 2 large fire pit areas (make new resort friends), large shoreline that is great young-children (sandy bottom and shallow water depth). Resort lake activities like tether ball, sand boxes, large play set, and fishing contests fill your days. Evenings belong to the two lakefront campfires where fishing stories unfold and marshmallows roast.
Nearby are numerous national retail stores and restaurants. No shortage of recreational opportunities in Houghton Lake, MI. Since you book directly with us here at Driftwood Resort, we can give you local tips so that everyone in your group goes home with lake-vacation memories that last a lifetime. Just let us know what you like to do year round! Cross country ski or snowmobile from the resort cabin.

We just spent a wonderful week at the Driftwood. So many things to do right on the property...row boats, pontoon boat, kayaks, rec room with pool table, table tennis, tons of table games for kids and adults not to mention the large TV. They also have various lawn games and a neat playground for the kids. We especially enjoyed the beautiful lake views. RoseMarie Nash
