Our Shorewood cottage is located on Crystal Lake with a private beach and boathouse. The main cottage has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms while the boathouse has its own bedroom and bathroom. This unique setup offers more privacy for larger groups of friends and families. This vintage cottage was built in the 1920’s but has been remolded and in order to maintain its original charm. The cottage also includes a screened in porch and deck for your enjoyment.
This is perfect for multiple families and groups that were considering renting more than one cabin. With the Shorewood cottage, you are getting two in one and can host 12 individuals very comfortably.
Shorewood is only minutes away from Frankfort and Beulah. Being right on Crystal Lake is perfect for swimming, boating and fishing while staying at Shorewood. The lake is nearly 10,000 acres and an average depth of 70 feet. It is also Michigan’s ninth largest inland lake and is adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Its waters are known for being very clean and clear, giving the lake its name Crystal Lake.

The boathouse is a very unique aspect to the Shorewood cottage. The separate sleeping quarters and bathroom offers a dynamic that most other vacation rentals cannot match. The boathouse gives more privacy while still being connected with the main property.
Benzie County is a very unique area that offers so many fun things to make your vacation to Northern Michigan special. The Betsie Valley Trail and Nature Conservancy can get you in tune with nature and help you relax and find peace. The community also has many historical sites such as the Benzie Area Historical Museum and the Point Betsie Lighthouse. These sites are great for learning about the history of the area and viewing historical artifacts.
Fun towns and tourist sites in Northern Michigan surround the Shorewood Cottage. Being minutes away from Frankfort and Beulah provides many fun opportunities for site seeing, shopping and more. A little farther away, Empire, Glen Arbor and Traverse City are great tourist destinations with even more chances for shopping and outdoor activities. Check out The Cherry Republic for all sorts of cherry-made foods and gifts. The Manitou Islands are also great for exploring and biking around the trails of the secluded islands.
Being right on Crystal Lake is perfect for having fun on the water while staying at the Shorewood Cottage. The lake offers a very diverse fish population including rainbow trout, lake trout, coho salmon, lake herring, whitefish and many more. Bring your own boat or rent one from local outfitters. There are also several charters in the area that can take you out and get you started on your fishing adventures.

Rates subject to change. We require a $375 refundable security deposit. This insures that the property is left in the same condition as when the tenant arrived. Going Up North Vacation Rentals has a 3-night minimum during the off-seasons. We will consider a partial week during the high season, but we don’t take reservations for partial weeks until the last week in June. If renter cancels and we are not able to fill that week, Going Up North Vacation Rentals keeps the ½ rental down payment.
